The possibility of us or others not existing is worth a discussion, but it isn't a practical thing to become fixed on. I'm all for daydreaming and wondering about the truths of things, but I have particular problems with that area. It's all too easy to become fixed with whether others exist or not, or whether we exist or not, but to "desire existence" is a ridiculous thing, considering you'd have to be sure you didn't exist in the first place, which is not a sound conclusion to reach from any philosophical argument. To spend one's entire life questioning existence (not to occasionally ponder existence, but to actually worry about it), without really being able to prove one way or the other or form a logically sound belief one way or the other, seems like a waste of time and a way to cop out of questioning other things. Of course, that is probably because I'm pretty sure we all exist, and I've reached the conclusion that even if we didn't, even if you all didn't and I did, it wouldn't really change the state of things. I can respect someone being somewhat skeptical of existence, but I really do not understand the logic behind desiring existence or actually being convinced we do not exist. I'm also pretty tired of the standard questions people ask and things people say, like "define (blank)" in cases where it's fairly obvious what the definition of something being discussed is, or "BUT MAYBE WE DON'T REALLY EXIST". I guess I'm just irritable because I spend too much time listening to people in my philosophy classes being stupid, not that I can really claim to be any better. :/

I don't think so. Or at least I don't hope so. I understand things better when I write them out in my own handwriting, so I take notes by hand. I also hand or send my friends letters a lot if I have something personal to tell them and couldn't say it by mouth. I'm a pretty shitty talker. :disappointed:

But that is culturally normal in some areas--I mean to get a gun at a young age. But again, nobody hands a gun to a 6 year old and says 'HERE IS UR GUN NAO SHOOT IT". I doubt that kid's problems stemmed from being given a gun. Guns don't make people want to kill people. And you already have to have permits to hunt, and it's already beginning to be hard enough to get a gun. There are tons and tons of people who aren't even allowed to purchase firearms and in a lot of places you have to undergo a background check. Which is fine by me, but it's really not like you can walk in a store and just come out with a gun.

If somebody draws a gun in a certain way, or at an inappropriate time, it's not like we're all "LOL LOOK FUN GUN TIME." Fucking Christ. Don't be so fucking haughty. It's a rarity in towns and cities to see guns; I'm talking about really in the boondocks and less populated, country areas. Not even that many people own guns, but the people that do tend to be concentrated in areas like where I've grown up, and then, they're used for hunting and target, not shooting people up on the fucking block, which is pretty damn well harmless to other people.
