Well, since my second poll was deleted, I guess I'll just have to go by the first. With 29 posts to leave and the poll closing today, then I guess that means the public have spoken,....and Tom Selleck....is a man of his word. So, the 4 days have been a privilage. I hope I've brought a little bit of excitement into the lounge for at least a few days but now, well....it can go back to 'how many pms do you have', and 'tell us what your thinking' threads. To the 3 members of the Tom Selleck club...'an_cat, 'chris05' and 'Redundancy', Tom will miss yous dearly. 12 rep points in 4 days is not a feat. to be disregarded! But I think, the people that will be missed the most on my behalf are..........the Radiohead fans. I shall really miss yous so much. You've brought so much joy to this old mans heart! The fact that you're calling Kurt one of the 'greatest musicians of your lifetime' shows your own childishness. What did he do? Scream..Release one big time success album(No, the others aren't. The only album most people know is Nevermind...and even that is hugely over-rated.) On the good side. Yes,, during the early 90's Kurt offered teenagers an alternative. He brought grunge into the main stream. For that, he should be credited. But in no way...is he a legend. In no way, is he one of the greats. Lennon, McCartney, Bono, Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen...yes. Kurt Cobain?....No.

Agree with everything said here. Jim Morrison...now there's a legend. Kurt...no. If Michael Stipe had have killed himself(thank God he didn't) after the release of AFTP, people would have been shouting about how he was the greatest ever and completely going over the top. In reality, REM went on to release Reveal, Around the sun(possibly their 2 worst), and now his rep has gone down a lot. IMO, even if Kurt was still alive, Nirvana wouldn't be. There wouldn't be so much fuss and he wouldn't be so over-rated. Again though....down to opinion.
