Help CCC Find Cures for Diseases - Free!
Some of us don't have money to donate or time to volunteer. That's why Stanford University has made it easy for everyone to help find cures for diseases simply by installing a small application on their home pc/mac that analyzes protein molecules and then sends back the results to Stanford. It's called Folding@home and more than 50,000 teams (600,000 users) have joined to help. I would like to officially invite Coldplaying Charity Club to join Isara's Folding@home Team so that we can work together to find cures for diseases. All you need to do is download a small file (it's completely safe) and install it (takes one minute). The application runs in the background, while you're working or sleeping (as long as your computer is on, you're helping). Download Site: http://folding.stanford.edu/download.html The first download link (5.03) will work for most PC users. After/During installation input the following: Username: Coldplaying (or use your own name if you want individual stats) Team Number: 53762 The more computers that have the Username: Coldplaying the more good we'll do and the more points CCC will get. Certificates are provided by Stanford for those who join in. Let me know if you have any questions and I hope you'll join in, pk

Do You Use Google?
Sorry for not hanging out here lately. Been busy upgrading our site and planning some new projects. Will announce a BIG event in a few days. But, for now, I need some help with something. In a few weeks Isara will be celebrating its one year anniversary. For the occassion we are putting together a video and would like to collect photos of your monitors (home and work) with the Isara homepage (maximized) on it. Feel free to place things around your monitor to make it more personalized. Please send the photos to webmaster (at) isara.com . Deadline is Oct. 22nd. Thanks for helping us celebrate. pk

Do You Use Google?
Just a quick photo that was taken yesterday. It's of the student who won the contest and me (look how dirty my shoes are). We are giving more than 150 helmets to the schools who participated in the contest. The winning essay will be giving 50 helmets to her school. :) Her essay was incredible and spoke about the importance of life and protecting it so that your family and your country can be strong. She is a smart kid. Hope you all had a good weekend, pk

We will have the #1 essay translated and posted in the next day or so. It was really good. We're going to have her read the essay tomorrow at the award ceremony. A lot of people will be there, including the tv news. I'm kind of nervous. My Thai isn't that good. :( We'll also be asking audience members questions about motorcycle stastics and then giving away free helmet. Should be fun. :) Should have some more photos up tomorrow. Have a good weekend everyone. pk

Do You Use Google?
The Scientist - Yes. Just surf and search like you always do (but via Isara). That's all it takes. We just want people to visit and use the site. Once we get enough steady traffic, we'll be able to find sponsors to advertise on Isara and then ALL that money will go to create bigger projects. Right now we're doing small projects because of our small budget. I'm glad you liked the photo. I did a few different versions, as a way to say thank you to all the people who have helped (one was for my Mom because it's mother's day here in Thailand). Another one was for a forum that has also helped a lot. I just didn't know how to thank everyone so I let the kids say it for me. :) Have a good weekend everyone!

A special thank you to everyone at Coldplaying.

Do You Use Google?
Marky - Exactly. Like newspapers, tv/radio, and the Internet, the bigger the audience the bigger the ad revenue. But with Isara all the revenue goes directly to our own charity projects that we create. Like right now, it's 12:30 at night and I'm sitting in my room with a few other volunteers, going through stacks of essays that children wrote. The topic was "Why it's important to wear a helmet?" On Sunday we will have a big ceremony announcing the 10 winners and giving them prizes, including more than 175 helmets for their school. If you go directly to Google then you're only helping Google. They don't need help. Have you seen the cars they drive? :) BUT if you use our site (register and you can customize the homepage) then we will receive more and more visitors. Once we have enough visitors we can sell our own ads and that's where the real fun begins. We want more visitors because we want bigger sponsors so we can have bigger projects in South America and Africa and even Europe and the USA. There's no reason why Yahoo and Google can make billions from ads and a non-profit can't. :) pk

Coldplaying has had a great chain reaction. People who find this thread go out and post a thread on another forum and, people who see that thread, post a thread on another site. :) We've had our highest web traffic since we started the site. Thanks to everyone at Coldplaying whose helped spread the word. pk

Wow! blackchickintheback, mysongislove1915 (you REALLY like Paris, don't you?), ugadawg5, pepperland67, and tanya41803, Thank you VERY much. Wish there were more people like you. And more forums like Coldplaying. :) I don't think I've mentioned this, but we're able to do a lot of these projects because it doesn't ake a lot of money to do good things over here. That REd Cross renovation only cost about $300! And a two year college degree only costs $250. We're starting a scholarship program this month because of the extra traffic. :) We're also very stingy with our money and try to get local businesses to help as much as they can. We try to find local solutions to local problems before using our own money. That way the locals learn how to support themselves, instead of us going in and spending a lot of money. Which doesn't help anyone. Thanks again, everyone. Keep spreading the word!

Victaniac - Thanks for switching to Isara. I noticed some of your posts in the other sections and was hoping you'd stumble upon this thread. Your signature has to be the most charitable sig on the Internet. :) Thanks again.

Wow! Thanks a lot, Sam. I really appreciate it. Every visit helps. :) Just to let everyone know, we here at Isara are HUGE Coldplay fans. We have a daily radio show here in Nong Khai, Thailand and we play their music almost each program. Northeastern Thailand rarely has the opportunity to hear great foreign muisc. They usually get all the Backstreet Boys and Westlife stuff, but no Coldplay. :( The first time I saw Coldplay in concert was about 5 years ago when they played in Seattle. It was great (of course). Being an aspiring filmmaker (that explains the monkey avatar) I even tried recreating their reverse slo-mo technique used in "The Scientist" for a homemade parody. Let's just say it didn't turn out as well. :) I'll leave music video production to the professionals. Thanks for everyone's support. Keep spreading the word so we can make more of an impact. PK

Coldplaying, Thank you very much for helping support Isara and spreading the word. All we need is for more people to discover Isara.com and learn how easy it is for their clicks to make a difference. We have some new Isara projects starting in August. They take place in Nepal, Thailand, and Vietnam. Your visits help fund these projects, so you can feel good every time you load the website. :) Thanks again and I look forward to getting to know more of you, PK
