Hi everyone, So my friend Pauline and I have started a Go Fund Me Campaign as we would like to meet each other in person for the first time. We've been friends for over two years now and we met through Instagram for our mutual love of Coldplay. We regularly Skype and message each other frequently on Instagram and WhatsApp. We haven't been able to meet each other since Pauline lives in Germany and I'm currently in India and due to our financial constraints it hasn't been possible... It's been more than a month since this campaign began and we've received €860 and we're halfway there to our goal of €1700. We've set our goal of €1700 as this includes our f…

By now, we should all know that an earthquake has totally destroyed Haiti, and they desperately need help. This is a thread to post any information you can, and educate others on simple ways that they can help Haiti recover from this terrible disaster.

Although we still have a stickied thread from the original project t years ago, many of those sites no longer host the album, many of the original organizers have moved on or are busy with life and many of the artists are no longer reachable as I've lost all my contacts from the project email. (Way to go, Hotmail.:p) I've been hoping to kick-start it, or even produce a sequel for about a year now if others are interested. The original proceeds were donated to the Oxfam Unwrapped programme, but perhaps there's a charity more relevant to the band's interests now...Uner 1 Roof or others.d All of the artwork, music and even the title were conceived and voted on by t…

Note to mod: If there's a similar/exact thread, could this be possibly merged? Thanks. Hello all! For quite sometime had I wanted to give back to the community, and wasn't sure how until now. I had been in the Interact Club (a community service club) in my freshman year of high school (2009-2010), and would like to start a project that would help give clothes to the unfortunate with a twist. I know most of you probably donated hand-me-downs before in the past to loved ones and/or Goodwill, but I'd like to do this with new clothes. It's not often that the unfortunate doesn't get to wear a fresh, new shirt, y'know. I suggest that we buy some plain t-shirts and paint some…

I am creating this my first thread in order to HELP RED CROSS HELP THE VICTIMS OF THE RECENT NATURAL DISASTERS - THE TYPHOON HITTING THE PHILIPPINES AND VIETNAM, THE TSUNAMI HITTING THE ISLANDS OF TONGA AND SAMOA and THE EARTHQUAKES IN PERU and SUMATRA (an island which is part of INDONESIA and hit twice). So many disasters in less than one week is overwhelming even for a large international organization such as RED CROSS, and due to the destruction of the infrastructure it is difficult to reach all those people affected by these disasters. RED CROSS is simply overwhelmed by all these disasters in just a few days. In Denmark on Sunday 4 October the Danish Red Cros…

to whom it may concern, as u know per today the total orang utan live in Indonesia rainforest getting less and less. and the massive killing of orang utan lately is getting worse. We would need your help whether Coldplay is willing to hold a concert here in Indonesia so we could donate the percentage of the profit for the #saveorangutan program. Would you mind to give us the contact number of coldplay management so we could contact them and maybe set up a meeting in London for this program we have. Much appreciate for your help and cooperation. Thank you. We're waiting so much for your response. Best Regards

Since there's talk of some new Tees and since I'd love to re-launch HWSTW, does anyone know if the old shop is still open, if the old tees are still available or if we should open a new shop? I know there are other threads about it, but I'd like to start a fresh one to have it all in one place. Thoughts?

I just checked out the CCC Cafepress shop and didn't see HWSTW still there. Do we need to re-upload it? I still have all the tracks and art templates...somewhere,lol. Not sure who's in charge of the CCC these days, but with the resurgence of famine in Africa, Oxfam can use every penny they can get. I'd love to see this project continue. Thanks. :)

I'm sure we've all seen the video of A Beat for Peace with our very own Will Champion in it. But, do we know the efforts of the organization Sudan365? Here's a briefing: Sudan 365 was launched on 9 January 2010, 365 days from when a referendum is due to be held to determine the future of Sudan. The people of South Sudan will vote to decide whether they wish to remain part of a united Sudan or whether they want to become an independent country. We believe it should be a future in which human rights are guaranteed in an environment of peace, prosperity and harmony. Our fear is that it could be a future of conflict and suffering. The referendum is important …

The kids of our after school film program, Paikea Productions, created a video for the StandUp for Kids organization. Their goal is to find and help homeless and at-risk children from around the nation, and we wanted to help raise awareness and to remind people everywhere who is struggling to never lose hope. Our local newspaper did a story about our project and you can view this article, as well as our video, at the links below: [ame= ] [/ame] http://www.ocregister.com/articles/-301927--.html One of my former students is homeless, and despite the hardships, her family remains optimistic. These are the type of people that if you meet them, you would never think t…

Hello, just a quick post reminding everyone the race for life is approaching, organised events up and down the country are taking place in order to raise money for charitable cause. My girlfriend Elizabeth is taking part and I figured here could be a good place to raise support for her. She is taking part in the 5k run and has been working hard to achieve her goal of £100. If you could spare £5 or as little/much as you can for a very worthy cause, Im sure it will go a long way to help those in need. Heres my girlfriends sponsor page, and below that, the official race for life website for more information. Thankyou/Merci/gracias/Dank/Dzięki/谢谢 :) Sponser my Elizabeth…

This thread is for all you people who are supporters of TOMS Shoes! If you haven't heard of TOMS Shoes, it is an amazing movement created by the lovely Blake Mycoskie. This guy: TOMS Shoes was founded on a simple premise: With every pair you purchase, TOMS will give a pair of new shoes to a child in need. One for One. I happened to hear about TOMS shoes from one of my good friends, but it wasn't until Blake Mycoskie actually came to my school campus --some months ago-- and I happened to hear him speak. I was very inspired by the story and I wanted to help by purchasing some shoes! I now own two pairs of TOMS Shoes, and let me tell you, they are the most comfor…

REVIEW OF NATURAL DISASTERS 2010, PART I - HAITI INTRODUCTION Earthquakes, heat waves, floods, volcanoes, super typhoons, blizzards, landslides and droughts killed at least a quarter million people in 2010 — the deadliest year in more than a generation. She estimated 2010's costs in relation to natural disasters at more than 180 billion EURO compared to between 70 and 80 billion Euro in previous years. More than 300,000 people died in 2010 as a consequence of natural disasters. The…

I have recently been involved in a project called Charity Waters It is an organization that helps to build wells in areas where the population does not have clean drinking water This is their mission statement: : Quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It’s hard not to think about water today. In the western world, we face growing concerns about our stewardship of the world’s most precious resource. There’s talk of shortages, evidence of reservoirs and aquifers drying up, and of course, plenty of people who simply don’t care. But forget about us. Most of us have never really been thirsty. We’ve never had to …
