Cards not really. I think it has to do with laziness. I use to actually write letters to people and send cards but now I don't really. I usually don't bother with other times of the year either if I can get away with it. I guess it's a silly notion but I find that cards are nice but then they can cause clutter and I rarely keep them around so I don't want to cause other people who may not throw things away to have one extra card from me. I guess I also prefer e-mail to keeping up with friends and family. Christmas cards can sure be beautiful though.

I guess it's not a big deal. I usually don't think 11 years makes a difference but usually it's when the girl is a bit older. Some people my think it's a big deal because you are still technically in your teens. Side note though: age can play some of a role in a relationship, such as relating to certain topics, the fact that your date probably remembers the 80's and you were only around for the latter half could be interesting. Anyway there are no hard rules here. Good luck.
