    I found something about the memory card manager to disable the automatic search for photo cards. 1) open the memory card manager program which is listed as a program under the printer name(start, programs, printer,...) 2) The default option appears to be load the program at startup. Unclick this option so the program won't load at startup. 3) Reboot your computer to make this take effect. This helped my bro-in-law, hope you can find it useful too!
