[17-Nov-2012] Coldplay @ Allianz Stadium, Sydney, Australia
What an unbelievable night. I was right at the end of the catwalk and Chris even winked at me as he was taking a sip of water before 'Up In Flames'. Here are some of my best shots from the night: x

Why does everyone hate 'The Hardest Part'?
It's one of the few examples of the production of a Coldplay song being the completely wrong choice. The video is fun and I don't have a particular dislike for the studio version, but it's a bit of a non-event for me. My opinion changed when I heard live piano version, which revealed a very pretty and poignant song underneath - who'd have thought? x

B-side box set
I'd love for the band to release a bonus disc of their best B-sides when an inevitable greatest hits release happens. It would be a great incentive for diehard fans to buy it, particularly if some rarer cuts (vinyl only ones, alternate mixes etc) were included. x

I've got Oval A for this night. It will be the first gig I've ever been to in a stadium - fitting that it is for my favourite band! Looking forward to sharing the night with you all. x

"Strawberry Swing" video - RELEASED! (20th July 2009)
Incredibly clever and visually exciting. Love the ending where it suddenly cuts back to the wrap-up of the video shoot, but with one final surreal image of the woman walking the dog. Brilliant. A 10/10 for me, one of my favourite Coldplay videos. x

15-Mar-2009: Acer Arena, Sydney, Australia - Tickets, Preview, Meetups, Review/Photos
Great to see so many Sydney fans out in force here on Coldplaying! The tour went so quickly for me, and of course now I wish I'd gone to see more than two shows. Looking forward to the next tour. :D x

Nothing more to tell! It was very relaxed, but Chris was tired and everyone was conscious of not taking too much of his time. He offered to sign things for everyone first (I held out the 'Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends' CD sleeve which he signed 'Chris' and then, almost as an after-thought, wrote 'love' above it) and then take photos. Most people got photos with him, but he did seem more rushed towards the end. The fans were extremely considerate, thanking Chris when he signed something or took a photo with them. He kept saying 'sure' and 'cool' whenever he was thanked. He's a really nice guy. x

What a phenomenal couple of nights. I saw Coldplay on Thursday's Sydney show, my first Coldplay concert despite being a fan since 'Yellow', and repeated the experience last night. It was definitely one of the best live shows I've seen in a long time and Sunday's events made it one of the most unforgettable nights of the year. My comrade and I ended up front row right in front of the B-stage catwalk section and had what we considered to be the best view in the house. The guys were on form the whole way through, topping the Thursday show thanks to a brief acoustic take on 'Speed Of Sound' (albeit being unexpectedly cut short after the first chorus). Highlights for me were the theatrical moments of the show - the sparklers behind the black gauze to open the show, the balls in 'Yellow', the use of the video screens throughout (most effectively in '42') and, of course, 'Lovers In Japan'. I challenge anyone to go to a Coldplay show and not be completely won over by the time they walk out. Despite his constant self-deprecation, Chris has borderline genius talent and genuine charisma, and he is backed by three of the finest musicians in the business. I met Chris after the show and he proved himself to be every inch the consummate professional, as well as a pleasantly polite, soft-spoken and humble man. His generosity made the night even more magical than it already was. Here are some of my photos from last night. x
