Well, we do have something like gay marriage. But I don't think that's really enough yet. I remember a man who sued the former employer of his deceased husband, because they wouldn't pay him the widower's pension (sorry, I can't seem to find the right word here) which they normally paid to every spouse of a deceased employee. He lost in court and the reason for that was that the judges felt that a marriage was primarily a constitution between a man and a woman that serves the procreation of mankind. Personally I thought that was a lame, very poor and erroneous reason. There are many childless married couples and procreation happens outside of marriage too. And more important that man played the same important part in his husband's life that every wife plays in her husband's life. That made me really angry, to be honest. There are still some political parties who are willing to do whatever it takes to prevent the adoption law for homosexual couples from happening ... another point. I do think that Germany is more "progressive" when it comes to the rights of homosexuals, but true equality can only happen, when we stop thinking and judging in categories like homo- and heterosexual.

I'm glad that everyone had a great time, found new friends and met old ones. I've only been here for a year or so, but it takes less than that to realise that this is one of the best communities around. :heart: And seeing how much fun everyone had, I also swear to myself never to miss a Coldplay show in Wembley again. :)
