  1. Well it kind of was. But in all honesty, I was too busy spazzing about imminent Coldplay to care much about awkwardness :D
  2. Nice photos! Ooh, in that first picture you probably would've had me in the frame if not for those people walking near the stage! I would've stood out too cause I didn't sit down until after Duffy came on and I realized I was the only person standing XD
  3. lol! From my viewpoint there was a roadie with a saw behind Chris during that. The roadie was dressed up (mask and fake arrows "through" his body) and was pretending to threaten Chris with the saw. It was hilarious from my angle! The roadie then fell onto the stage floor and remained there through the song XD
  4. DEFINITELY trust ebay for tickets. I've gotten every good Coldplay ticket of mine from Ebay. See, if the ticket isn't exactly as described or doesn't arrive on time, Ebay gives you a full refund. I had that happen to me once (not with Coldplay) where the tickets didn't come on time. Bam, full refund!
  5. OH moment I don't think has been mentioned yet! During the encore performance of Yellow, Chris didn't even start singing it himself - once they started playing, he turned the microphone to the audience and just sort of provided backup vocals, letting us take it. He would kind of sing into it backwards every so often, with the microphone facing the audience and him facing the audience, sort of turning his head. But at one point he danced away, and then came back to the microphone expecting to sing into it, but it was still pointing toward the audience! He made the most adorable Chris face and kind of shrugged and turned it around so he could face the audience and sing into it at the same time. That was an awful explanation. I hope someone has video!
  6. Ohhh I had an awesome time! :D As to how I got my tickets, it was a last minute ebay auction. The guy who bought them originally has connections at the Verizon center, I believe, but either way he had them and was going to actually go himself with his girlfriend. At the last minute she couldn't make it, and so he auctioned them. I won, and actually a part of me believed the tickets were somehow fake up until the point that I actually sat down in the row XD But no, I don't think they were ever available through ticketmaster or anything.
  7. Although, I should note that a LOT of people seated around me had been moved, which was awesome cause it meant that everyone down there was REALLY into the concert. The atmosphere was great.
  8. I always had second row. I paid a fortune and a half for it (literally - I have almost no money leftover in my bank account) but it was SO worth it! Oh man :D But see my tickets were for row D, so I was expecting to be 4 rows back. But apparently D means 2 in the Verizon Center, and when I discovered that I literally flipped out. I hugged the usher who showed us to our seats XD I just wish my camera hadn't been out of batteries. Must go charge it so it's ready for Philly tomorrow!
  9. OH MY GOD. WHAT A CONCERT. I can confirm that Chris wore the Obama armband. Seeing as I ended up in the SECOND ROW!!!!!!! Almost dead center, but slightly over toward Guy's ramp. If you saw anyone literally freaking out and shaking from overwhelm before the show...yeah, that was me. Um um um where to start? Well, unfortunately, my camera decided to have almost no battery so I have almost no pictures :( Halloween was definitely mentioned and added a great energy - the roadies and the band and everyone seemed to enjoy it. They switched up the order of the songs a little bit, and it felt to me like they switched up the setlist. However, that might just be me getting caught up in the moment! They definitely moved Chinese Sleep Chant off of B-stage and did it on the larger stage. LOTS of cute interaction between Jonny and Chris - I hope someone got it in video! If not I'll have to hope my cellphone caught something of it. LOTS of interaction with Chris and the audience too - not so much political stuff, but typical Chris at his most chatty :D And, um, at the end I was cheering like the fangirl I am...AND HE LOOKED RIGHT AT ME, POINTED AT ME, AND SAID "EXACTLY". I'm not the only one who saw him do it either - I met other people in my section before the show and they saw it too! The bat and pumpkin confetti was amazing. They had the usual sort of paper confetti and then they also had metallic pumpkins and bats! I brought some home so I'll try to snap a picture unless someone else has a good photo of them from the venue. They also turned the magic balls into halloween pumpkins and at one point Jack Skellington's head complete with changing facial expressions. Lots of people dressed up, including quite a few of the roadies. Crowd was GREAT. All the boys were in fine form. Chris took off his jacket fairly early as did Jonny; Guy didn't take anything off but he was only wearing red shirt w/ a vest to begin with so he wouldn't have had much to take off! Will seemed to be really into the drumming thing tonight, particularly during VLV. I guess the most amazing thing of the entire concert, at least to my eyes, was getting to see them interact. When they'd play near each other they'd talk and chuckle. Their smiles are so priceless! You can really tell they're friends, particularly Chris and Jonny. In addition to the square dancing there were some times when they'd do a sort of "dueling guitars" thing, playing really close to each other. Sorry this is so long. I'm just so...aah! :D :D :D :D :D YAY COLDPLAY!!!!
  10. I'm really heading down to the Verizon Center now :p Everyone going tonight, HAVE FUN (which of course I know everyone will!) I think we're in for a super great show :D
  11. What time do doors usually open? An hour and a half before? Earlier? I need to get my butt down there pretty much now anyway :p
  12. No, I don't think that'll happen. They pretty much always have an opener :)
  13. notlost, I've got floor too! I'll wave to you even though I have no idea what you look like :p
  14. I wonder where they are staying...but there's so many hotels in DC :/
  15. Ooh, fingers crossed for some fun festivities! I am armed with camera, loooots of SD cards, and what should hopefully be good seats so I'll try to take pictures as much as possible. I'm actually heading down to the Verizon Center in just a few minutes so I can try to sell my one remaining old ticket! This should be AMAZING. :D
  16. The original Viva one was sad. Whenever I want a VLV video fix, I always go for the king version! But this one is AMAZING. Beautiful from start to finish :D
  17. I also don't like the "painted" version of Viva and LOVE the King version. it's on youtube: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k67ZAc1YmUA]YouTube - Viva La Vida - Coldplay [TRIBUTE TO DEPECHE MODE][/ame] Next after that, I have to say Violet Hill and LiJ tie. They both are REALLY awesome in different ways. But overall, a really strong batch of videos from the guys for this album! Yay!
  18. Listen to the songs from VLV even more? Or just watch the LiJ video repeatedly :D
  19. Come on DC! I'm so disappointed! This thread should be JUMPING - we are seeing *Coldplay* on *Halloween*. I don't think it gets much better than that! I plan on taking loads of pictures...provided I don't do what I did in Cleveland and get so caught up in the concert that I forget about trying for photos XD But if I remember they ought to turn out really nicely from where I'm sitting :D
  20. This all sounds like it's coming together :) I'm so excited! Sorry you can't make it Professa95 :( Would it make sense for those of us who are handing out to say whereabouts we are sitting so we can see if there are any really big holes we need to make sure get filled? And no worries Pallavi, you can count on me! Even if I have to poke people to remind them, I'll get them holding up the signs as much as I possibly can :) Also, it looks like I can print out some signs! I just need to find a printer here I can use, and I should have enough money in my paycheck this week to manage a few hundred black and whites. I'll let you guys know once I have the signs in hand how many I was able to do.
  21. I would dress up, but I can't think of a good costume that would still let me wear my concert tee :/ If I could I would 100% dress up! I'm at least hoping they throw out candy or do something fun for halloween :) Ambercat, the time on the ticket is the time (approximately) that Duffy goes on. Her set is usually about a half an hour, and then there's 15 minutes to a half an hour of setup before Coldplay. I'll be getting there a good bit before Duffy so I can bond with my seats and figure out how to adjust my camera for best pictures and everything. But if you really just want to see Coldplay and not Duffy, probably come at about 8:15 I'd say. It would be so much fun if Gwyneth is there! Although I'd imagine one or the other of them would want to be home with their kids on Halloween. I guess we'll see!
  22. What to do with the signs sounds simple enough. It's getting them distributed and making sure everyone else knows what to do with them that might be harder! Just one question: do we hold them up during the first encore at the beginning of Politik, or the second one before Yellow? Or both? Hmm, can security actually stop us for the signs? It's not like they're metal or dangerous or anything. Hopefully it won't be a problem! I saw the video with Chris commenting on the signs. It's no wonder, they're awesome looking! You did a really great job designing them :)
