Very sorry I posted this topic in the wrogn section but I had forgotten about the News and Sport section. I have asked for this topic to be moved.

Chat about items from the news in here. Earlier this week there was a fatal house fire in South Auckland and there were 9 people in the house. 5 were rescued by a couple of teenagers who were coming past the house at the time of the fire. But they were unable to save the rest of the occupants. The 4 who died were kids and one of them was 15. She had been cooking something in the frying pan that night. It's so sad that this has happened, but those deaths would have been prevented if the house had got smoke alarms and if the frying pan hadn't been left unattended.

Mrs Geier, I was happy to have helped you out with your pic. Towards the end of last year I was taking my dog out on a walk when he was nearly attacked by a dog that lives just down the road from me. I went to the local council and complained about it. There's been trouble with that dog before.

I do respect other people's opinions but yeah sometimes I get involved in arguments. I accept that some people don't believe in ghosts. On the way to Wellington there is a stretch of road that's said to be haunted by the ghost of a hitch hiker who was run over while trying to find his way home one night. His ghost has been known to appear in people's cars at night.

This happened sometime last year. Some crazed guy was sitting next to one of the other passengers, when for no reason he started to stab him. The victim was screaming in agony and he soon died from the multiple stab wounds. The victim's head was then sliced off and shown to the police. This was such a sick act to carry out. I read about it in the paper and saw it on the news.

In April last year several students and some teachers from Auckland's Elim College went on a week long trip to the Outdoor Pursuits Centre in Turangi. But the last day of the trip turned to tragedy. Six students and their teacher were swept to their deaths when they were caught in a sudden flash flood while crossing the river. The Outdoor Pursuits Centre had said that they had not received any weather warning from the Metservice. This year will be the 1st anniversary of the tragedy.
