  2. Hey, thanks for your track list, good to know some of the songs. While I listend through I said to myself, some of this has to be Air and Iron & Wine lol. I guess you missed my response earlier but here is what I said to you with my tracklist. "Hey, this is mine, very glad to hear that you enjoyed it. I organized it in such a way that made the mix progress to heavier beat that makes you move as the tape closed toward the end. Glad to hear you are a Mute Math fan I saw them live recently and best show I have ever seen. Here is my tracklist, would be appreciative if others listened to and reviewed my mixtape, thanks. 01 Gone Forever by Ulrich Schnauss (Not a well known artist who does some awesome electronic stuff, not imogen heap though ) 02 Tri-State by Above & Beyond 03 I Feel Love by Static Revenger 04 Morning Song by Zero 7 05 Mirrorball by Elbow 06 Theysay by Josiah Leming (An artist who was kicked out of American Idol before the final 30 people, I think he is pretty talented and really like this song) 07 Chemicals Collide by Cloud Cult 08 Wrestlers by Hot Chip 09 Local Joke by Neon Indian 10 Lisztomania by Phoenix (It seems a good amount of people used this track) 11 Little Secrets by Passion Pit 12 Sweet Talk by The Killers 13 Raindrops by Basement Jaxx 14 Stall Out (Live) + Burden Outro by Mute Math (I mixed this live version together with an Outro from another track by the same band). 4. I feel ya, im waiting on mine as well.
  5. I love you for putting hard times on there, funny because when I put it on a personal mix before it was also the second to last track, he is very talented
  6. Here is my review Track 1 – An interesting start with opening eerie notes. The eerie synths play throughout giving you a sense of floating which is the perfect opening for the mixtape. The vocals are nothing special in my opinion though. Overall the song is not stellar but the position it is placed in is perfect. The sensation it gives you is perfect for the start. Put me in a chill mood setting the scene for a good build up. Track 2 – Another chill track starting with a very simple guitar harmony which plays throughout the song, then a very emphasized piano comes in and plays in accompaniment with the guitar through the song. Makes me feel like I am listening to the Album Leaf until the vocals kick in, a peaceful simple voice without embellishment which is awesome in my view. Later nearing the end of the song some violins begin to reinforce the melody, perfect. A nice track to study too :) Track 3 – This track starts very quickly with an acoustic and light vocals, a terrible transition for me IMO, kinda felt obnoxious in that it began so quickly. The light vocals and acoustic continue throughout later to be joined by a piano which continues through the entire song until the end where the vocals subside leaving just instrumentation. Very similar to previous tracks so well done in sticking to the theme :) Just not my favorite song since the melody is pretty simple and dry. Track 4 – Another chill track with some long drawn out violins and an eventual saxophone that does not overdue it. This band definitely did well with this track in making the sax not sound over zealous. Other than the great sax, not much here for me IMO. It is by this point that I have noticed the low quality in all the songs so far, hopefully it will change but we will see. Track 5 – Another very chill acoustic track. For me it is just another chill track with some sub-par vocals. There seems to be no variation in the tracks up to this point, all the tracks have the exact same structure though this one had a woodwind finish. Hoping that the tape will pick up or change eventually. Track 6 – A gentle acoustic starts this one off as well, another relaxing track with light gentle vocals and an acoustic. Pulls in some keyboards later in the track but overall another very similar track. Relaxing and enjoyable but once again not my favorite. Track 7 – An acoustic guitar starts this one off as well, lightly and alone it plays some gentle notes. The same structure with nothing more to report. Track 8 – Starts with a welcome drum set, this one has a little more speed and some bounce to it. I have heard this one before, I believe it is Grizzly bear. In fact I know it is as the song progresses. Never too big a fan of anything other than two weeks for about…two weeks. Another peaceful sound with the high scaled vocals and keyboards. Then near the middle of the song a synth solo stands out and really adds some fun to this track. The first one on the mixtape that I am very fond of. Had a very enjoyable sound. Track 9 – Light Grizzly bear style vocals and an acoustic guitar. Then some other keyboards come in, not much different from previous tracks. Track 10 – This one had some very interesting keyboards and then violins in the background. Another peaceful opening, then you get hit in the fact with drums, vocals, and song picks up to a bpm slightly higher than the other chill tracks. Then it slows down ago and picks up accompaniment with the violins, trumpets, and keyboards. Really an amazing song due to the combination of violins and piano giving it a very emotional appeal. Track 11 – This is a good track by Civil Twilight, it starts off very peacefully and then begins to jam out with a coldplay like sound, in fact the lead vocalist does parallel Chris Martin. A well placed and well appreciated track since it was harder than the previous tracks. This really is an excellent track. Track 12 – A chill acoustic light vocals song, very similar to all the other ones described as such before it. Really nothing special for me at all, the kind of track that just starts and ends all of a sudden without knowing it. Track 13 – Female vocals, the first time on the album by itself. This voice is the coarse and comforting type of voice like Eric McCarley. Just the vocals and an acoustic guitar. She is a refreshing vocalist at this point in the mixtape but still very similar and ununique. Track 14 – This track has a swaying type of beat with a Chris Martin kind of voice, paired with an acoustic and drumset till the chorus where keyboards and strings come up. The chorus picks this song up. It gives it more melody and a sing a long quality in it since the chorus lyrics are rather simple and memorable. An enjoyable song overall. Track 15 – This one has male vocals and an electric guitar though it is still light, it picks up an acoustic guitar near the chorus and then goes back to the electric riffing with the peaceful vocals. Another good song and with it, it seems that this mix is finally beginning to pick up. I am all for chill music but for me it was just too much too long. Track 16 – This is another chill song in the beginning and really fits along with the pattern up to this point because though chill this one ranks with the last couple of track in terms of speed. A logical choice at this point in the mix. Has a sort of Mute Math sound to me. The drumline is pretty catchy in my opinion and over powers all the other instruments for most of the track. I do like this one as well. Track 17 – Drums start and then very light vocals come in sounding a lot like múm. It has pretty bad quality in the track and does not really peak my interest until the end of the track where instrumentation takes off. The drums, vocals, acoustic guitar, and everything else just take off all at once. An enjoyable different tune with its fast beat yet chill disposition. So overall, not my favorite mix for me personally as it just held onto the very light acoustic male vocal type tracks for too long. Also, the low quality of a lot of the songs was kinda a bother. Others may really enjoy this mixtape if they do enjoy that type of music for an extended period of time. Near the end it really gains steam and develops what I expected after a lot o relaxing songs. A good mix to fall asleep too (which is not in any way meant to be insulting, it is just very relaxing music). All of this is IMO and not meant to offend anyone :)
  7. You chose some good stuff :) Though These Few Presidents is not a particular favorite of mine, promoting Why? is always welcomed (By Torpedo or Crohn's would have been my choice). I like the Close you eyes remix better but another good band to promote :) this goes the same for the xx and sunset rubdown, I like your taste in music. My mixtape is also uploaded in individual songs...and I have never been luckier to have a 1 month premium user subscription to rapidshare :) ill be listening to mine soon
  8. At what point should we be questioning whether or not we will recieve our tape? I have not recieved mine as of now. Thanks
