The 5th Mixtape Exchange (Tapes In First Post)
All the info was on the songs somehow. :/ I'll just go along with this thing though. Track 1 - Didn't work (protected) Track 2 - Starts with a nice drum beat, guitar rolls in, bass follows, then the vocals. Lyrics are bit too reptative for me, but overall a solid song. Track 3 - Didn't work (protected) Track 4 - My favorite Coldplay song. The song is already amazing without Chris's vocals, so think how amazing it is with his voice. Track 5 - A fun song with cool rhythm. The vocals sound old fashioned. The repetition of "And the DJ" at the end annoyed me a little. I guess I don't like too much repition. Track 6 - Another one of my favorite Coldplay songs. The piano is amazing. Track 7 - Like the intro. As the song progresses it has an interesting instrumental peice in the background. I like the acoustic guitar in this song. Lyrics are interesting as well, seems like a fast sad song. Track 8 - Keep bringing some of my favorite Coldplay songs. Track 9 - Sugarcult. The drum beat gave them away. Plus I used to listen to this song way too much when it first came out. Amazingly, I remember the lyrics. Good song. Track 10 - Yay! The Killers. Probably their most popular song. The guitar in this song is fun to listen to, how it goes up and down and back up consistently. Track 11 - Good song from Viva La Vida. I love the lyrics of this song. Love the clapping. The mix of electric and acoustic guitars are awesome (best of both worlds ;)) Track 12 - I remember this song from playing Guitar Hero like a nerd. I love the guitar and lyrics and drums. The change from fast paced to slowed down back to fast paced is really cool. Track 13 - Another Coldplay. The part towards the end just screams "Sing Along!" Summary - While it was a good mix of songs, I wish there was a wider variety of artists. I also was looking forward to finding new music, and I've heard of all the artists besides one. I did enjoy it though, so mission accomplished I guess. :P EDIT: Yeah, I remember finding that song on iTunes and the review from the iTunes staff mentioned Coldplay, which caught my eye and lead me to getting that song. :P Funny

Grammy Nominations! (awards ceremony 31st January 2010 - Coldplay up for LiTii twice!)
Grammy's are in January 20 something. LiTii :D I can see Boom Boom Pow beating them, along with Use Someboday unfortunately. I hope LiTii wins. The only one that is probably going to be televised is Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals

Hello There
Hey, I thought I might as well post something here. I joined a few months ago and just recently started to get active here. I can honestly say, I LOVE THIS FORUM. My name's Jake, and I've been addicted to Coldplay since I first heard Parachutes. (wow that sounded like an AA introduction)

WHY!? I love the lyrics of LiTii. "Love don't ever let me go"

The 5th Coldplay album
I don't care what's on it, as long as it has Chris, Guy, Jonny, and Will, I'll be happy. I liked the big range of instruments they used in Viva and Prospekts, and I'd like them to continue that, but don't cram as much instruments as you can into one song. And for that matter, don't try to do it with every song. I don't really get that feeling though, based on what I heard during the 60 Minutes interview. Christmas Lights sounds amazing.

06-Aug-09: Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion, Raleigh, NC - Tickets, Previews, Meetups, Reviews, Setl
Well this is really late, but I have to say something. We were in like the fifth to last row of the seated area, so we had a great view of all three stages. I thought the crowd wasn't horrible, although everyone around me never sang along besides during Fix You and Viva La Vida. I sang every song, and was ridiculously jumpy. Twas my first Coldplay Concert, so yeah. The best part, aside from the music, of Coldplay live in concert is how personal they were with the crowd. Everyone seemed to be in a rush to get out, which pissed me off, because they were slow putting the lights up, which would mean there was a slight possibility the band would come out for a second encore. (This is general knowledge about concerts to me) My favorite performance from the whole thing was Lovers in Japan, that song just looks amazing live. The only annoying thing is all the people standing on their seats or hitting you in the head trying to catch a butterfly. On the way back to our car, some drunken moron walked into a stop sign, and with a loud mettalic BANG and then a thud, he was knocked out. It was quite funny to see. Some guy caught one of the Yellow Balloon Ball things and never popped it, and was bringing it back to their car. Sadly, the balls never came close to us, only in the first few rows and the lawn. I was in disbelief and a continued state of awe for about three days after that concert. I have a few pictures and some videos. But yeah, they are most definately the best band Live. And all around, for that matter
