  1. Here we go! Thanks so much to my mixtape maker! You added quite a few new songs to my collection and gave me more artists to check out, which was more than I had hoped for.
  2. Link to the review Link to the mixtape .zip file (rapidshare, but see below for mirrors) Megaupload Mediafire Uploading Technicolor: you got a noob! Me :D 1) Michael Buble-I'm Your Man (Madison Square Garden album): Absolutely love this version. IYM is a top 5 favorite song of mine that nobody understands why I love so much. Felt it would be a good build to the CD and had to share it with someone since I listen to it so much. 2) Linkin Park-Pushing Me Away (live piano version): Pretty cool song and most haven't heard it since it was distributed through their LP Underground. Shows a whole side to LP and as well as their live talent, which I've personally witnessed. Sorry the album art stayed with the file :-/ 3) Ryuichi Sakamoto-Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence: UNBELIEVABLE instrumental, mostly piano. Heard it by chance a few weeks back on Pandora and have been listening to Sakamoto-san and all of his various work since. This is the title track to a WW2 movie he made with David Bowie! Check out Sakamoto-san's album "1996" if you want to be blown away. "Playing the Piano" is a recent album of his and features stripped piano-only versions of his biggest hits. I have a personal love and desire to see Japan and have for quite some time, so it's not a huge surprise I love this song. Japanese piano pieces are quite special. 4. Rodrigo y Gabriela-Diablo Rojo: This song doesn't have any drums :) it's ALL guitar. If you watch the video, you'll see them pounding on the guitars for percussion. Really amazing guitar playing here, and they also do a lot of covers of Metallica songs which are worth checking out. 5. Riverboat Gamblers-Sleepless: Pretty awesome song from a rather unknown band. Heard one of their songs on satellite radio, bought the CD, and was surprised that this song wasn't the one they released first since it shines. 6. Matt Nathanson-Come On Get Higher: If you haven't heard of Matt Nathanson, GO LISTEN NOW! Same kinda genre as Vega6, Snow Patrol, Augstana, etc. Really impressive and underhyped. 7. Jimmy Eat World-23: Song that used to mean a lot more to me than it does now, but still hard to ignore. Pretty powerful and you can really feel something from it. I'd rather not go back to the days it reminds me of, but I still never skip it when it comes on. Jimmy Eat World is a phenomenal band and the album Futures is a must own. 8. Tiesto Ft. Matt Hales From Aqualung - UR (Junkie XL Remix): It'd be hard to ignore how big of a trance music fan I am. I don't like the techno with senseless pounding beats; I prefer melody, composition, and great vocals. This song was my gateway drug to trance and is worth a listen. If you like this and the other electronic track on this album, shoot me a PM and I can steer you down the same path I went on :) 9. Coba-Sugisarishi Eien no Hibi: Another song by a Japanese artist (who's done music for quite a few popular video games, actually) but more importantly it's a Foxtrot for ballroom dance. A fire for that was lit this year as I started college, I put in at least 15 hours a week of tough work to get as good as I can. If you want to see the grace I'm aspiring to: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1gQEik74U7k]YouTube- Luca Foxtrot Performance[/ame] I'll never be as good as Luca, but listening to this song and watching that makes me want to work that much harder! 10. Jamie Cullum-Don't Stop the Music: pretty cool rendition by another amazing solo performer. Check out his song "Mind Trick" and cover of Buckley's "Lover, You Should Have Come Over," both of which I almost put on this CD. 11. Ennui-Tonight: a song from the band a former guitar teacher of mine was in. Figured it was safe to say that NOBODY here has heard this song and I thought it was pretty cool. 12. Augustana-Boston: If you had heard this song and recognized it, I was worried that you would have heard of Nathanson too. Some people completely missed this song and it's definitely one worth hearing. Probably my favorite track from them, but they have some other good ones. 13. Snow Patrol-Just Say Yes: As a colossal Snow Patrol fan, I figured I would try to include something that most fans haven't heard. Looks like I couldn't sneak one past you, but glad it made you happy. Must listen if you like SP or even if you don't! Snow Patrol is my favorite either alongside or behind Coldplay too! and my friends think I'm nuts how much I like CP. 14. U2-Beautiful Day (Mat Zo Remix): Mat Zo is a very young trance producer with a ton of potential. Thought this would be a good uplifting song to end the CD on. Glad you liked it! I had no idea if it was going to be a hit or a miss, and it looks like it was a bit of both  I meant to include a song by Vega4 titled Life Is Beautiful, but I didn't see that I left myself a note to do that. Vega4 should have been huge, but the marketing department completely dropped the ball. Consider that the bonus track to the CD please! You can hear the stream for free at their MySpace page I'll be posting the review of the album I got fairly soon so hang on please whoever made my mixtape!
  3. have tapes been delivered? As in...is it too late to make changes?
  4. I wouldn't remove the track number if I were you. It'll make it easier if you adjust the number so that the album will play through properly
  5. I hope the person mine's for likes it! Just finished.
  6. May want to take the "join now!" out of your signature and change the first page to say SIGNUP CLOSED :-)
  7. SO IN! Artists I really like right now: Arists I don't want: Thanks so much for organizing this!
  8. Would also love some of the non-standard paper ones! Multiple shows a plus!
