  1. Yes, I know mine was stage-used, and I'm very confident both were. (Mine has the exact neck and body used on the Paralympics performance, and I believe mine has the neck and headstock from the youtube headstock-cam video.) When I bought mine, I looked through lots of concert video, and it does seem like various bodies, pick guards, necks and heads were mixed and matched throughout the tour. Hopefully it's just the two though!
  2. Seeing the Chris Martin smashed telecaster was a bit surprising to me... I actually bought one at a previous auction for Hurricane Sandy Relief... and mine was the exact one in the YouTube video link that they posted in this auction (the features were identical, paint on the fretboard, tape around the headstock, black tape on the body as well... the one they just sold is a bit different). So I'm a little disappointed that in both auctions they kinda positioned it as if it were a one-and-only guitar that was smashed every time, but it seems there were several models used on tour, mixing and matching the bodies, pick guards, etc. ... at least two have been sold now. hopefully more don't surface later?? :/ Anyway, Coldplay were really great about mine, sent a certificate of authenticity and a personal letter signed by everyone in the band, including some little cartoon drawings for me from Chris :) mine:
  3. i can't believe they performed "A Message" on the Haiti relief show tonight! if i knew that, i would have let Chris Martin keep his SJ-200 for another few weeks for this one final performance. it was amazing!
  4. DHL did require a signature. They said if you are not there they would leave a slip on the door, which you can sign and authorize a porch drop-off the next day (NOT!!!)... i saw mine arrive in dallas DHL location on Thursday morning, and it was at my door within the hour. pretty lucky.
  5. a few details about "A Message" guitar: -- COA was just resting under the bubble wrap and on top of guitar case... i could have easily damaged it by cutting into the wrap wrong! -- first thing I saw was the pink tape with the tuning used for "A Message" on it... so I know it's the right guitar -- it is the SJ-200 "Historic Collection" model -- the guitar is actually tuned to standard EADGBE tuning -- based on the tape on the guitar, it appears to have been used for "Sparks" recently -- inside the case were: a black Ernie Ball strap unused/unopened set of strings (D'Addario Medium Acoustic Strings EXP17) four guitar picks (one black Gibson Acoustic, three grey Jim Dunlop .88mm nylon) owners manual Gibson Gold Warranty (not filled out) guitar humidifier instructions... and... a pre-pack checklist from Gibson, with the date (of purchase??) of 04/22/05, serial number and model number, and inspection initials any ideas what the Roman Numeral V means on tape in two places, next to the A Message tuning and next to Sparks? any ideas what 25/2 means?
  6. the Gibson acoustic from A Message just arrived! and it has a few extras! pics... and the autographs...
  7. regarding shipping, I also just paid the 200GBP fee, and i havent heard anything more about that. per DHL's tracking, my guitar is now in a "Clearance Delay" at DHL in the UK (it is coming to the U.S.)... i have called DHL, and they said things usually get held up in customs for inspection, etc., but eventually clear through, that it's normal. but I am wondering if they will need me to pay some kind of duty and/or tax/VAT to clear it through. I know Kids Co mentioned in all posts that we will be responsible for duties. Hopefully I will hear more about that today from DHL
  8. Just got my tracking number this morning as well!!! Woohoo!!
  9. did any other auction winners hear anything else from them about shipping? i first heard it would be shipped last week... then they told me on Monday it would be next day... and now i saw somebody mention DHL was coming today to pick everything up. what's the latest word anybody has received?? thanks!
  10. I Bloom Blaum is an absolutely BEAUTIFUL song... i would guess T3 is for "Track 3"... it's track three on the In My Place single CD... i bet the last time he played this guitar might have been for the actual recording of that song on that album... or for a live performance in concert! (do the strings look very old/rusty? that song would have been recorded in 2002) below is a link to the guitar tab for that song, and it features the exact tuning as seen on the tape: http://tablaturas.buanzo.com.ar/index.php?ident=6078646 i know "A Message" had a very unique tuning... all strings down a half step, and two highest strings WAY down... can't wait to see if my guitar still has this tuning in place.
  11. it's actually the tuning for each string... so the Guitar Tech can tune the guitar properly backstage before he hands it to Chris
  12. AWESOME! Absolutely can't wait to get my J-200 from A Message to see what surprises are in there (maybe he'll include his original notes from when he was writing the song?!) Hopefully it ships this week!
  13. fyi... they told me they received my wire transfer and it will be shipped within the next 5 business days!!!
  14. Afeather - I still haven't heard anything from them today. Did they mention what to do if the total is over the PayPal limit?
  15. yes... speaking of relative value of things, let's rate what you think should have sold for the most. my opinion: 1) Chris hand-painted Blues King (a one of a kind personal work of art) 2) Parachutes Globe 3) Chris First Ever Guitar 4) Viva Guitar after that, the three Chris's guitars (Takamine and Gibson J200s) then the spare hand-painted Blues Kings Agree/Disagree?
