so, on the 24th, tuesday, the album gets released worldwide and in the U.S. The highest quality leak we've had is the 98-100mb one, with many leaks including the 3 bonus glastonbury live tracks, which appear to make the leak look like its greater than 100mb's but its obviously as a result not of audio quality, but because of those 3 live tracks. my question is, on tuesday, will we see another leak, of a higher quality? Even with the 98-100mb leak people were complaining about the audio quality. usually this is not the case with 320/v0 leaks that im aware of, sure they usually dont sound perfect, but usually issues arent as pronounced and galaring as people have been suggesting this leak/rip is. Will there be a better higher quality leak, or is this it? can a higher quality rip come out tuesday, or is there essentially nothing that could be improved upon sound quality wise?

its the same thing, just better quality. that said, the first leak was way more heavily mentioned, or out there. it was everywhere online. this new leak, the flac, the 320, im not seeing them on mediafire, or anywhere else other than torrent sites and newcdreleases.net and people pming others on this board. There were so many sites with the original leak from yesterday. but today, i cant find a mediafire link, or a link outside the torrents and stuff like that. i dont really understand why that is. the fact no one has really explained what the flac or 320 was from, is that the itunes rip but converted to flac and 320? or who knows what. thats sort of the confusion. for me at least.

true, but in this case doesnt the fact that its including 3 live tunes make the megabytes more? 130 megabytes, on the itunes version but thats because of the 3 extra songs, not necessarily audio quality

not sure, thats the problem with all this. the itunes one is 130mb and as i said i think its that big of a file because it includes 3 live songs. the newcdreleases.net site has the album at 99mb, which i guess was converted from a flac. was the flac originally the itunes version. i dont know so many versions floating around right now. What.cd has the AAC 320 and MP3 320 at 101 mb and the itunes deluxe at 114. so who the hell knows.

yes its the final version. its just a question of sorting it all out now. the itunes rip, 320, v0, flac are all out. as of now, it seems like the 320, isnt on mediafire and is only on one website. doesnt seem like its being trafficed much.

so im right in suggesting we wont get a better sounding rip? 320, v0's, itunes rip and the like are all on what.cd. at this point the best we have is the 320, the 99-101mb one, the only place i see that is on newcdreleases.net. the itunes rip is good but is large only because it includes 3 live songs at the end of the record. so beyond buying the cd of course, other than FLAC's, the next highest quality would be the 320 right? and thats out there, so nothing will top that right?

so i got the 320 99 mb one from newalbumreleases. says its 320. supposedly converted from flac. the itunes one is great, but the only reason its 130 as opposed to 99mb is because it includes 3 bonus live tracks.

POC may be the same but the size of the two leaks, yesterdays at 80 mb and todays at 99-100mb, is obviously a big difference. the two leaks arent the same. all im trying to deduce is exactly what the 99-100mb version is coming from, the japanese retail or a flac or something completely different. im refering to the one on a certain website, that leaked today.

but i assume somone is going to put it out in mp3 format soon, mediafire and the like. So your confirming that the leak we got today, which is 99 mb is essentially the flac rip? thats the only leak ive seen today? is there another one? and flac is top dog right? nothing sounds better beyond the flac, other than the cd right? is flac converted to mp3 the same audio quality as a cd retail rip, and or a 320 rip?

so the new releases leak, which is 99mb, is obviously bigger than the leak that originally came out. is that the 320 rip, cd quality? or is it the japanese itunes version? kind of confusing with all the different leaks out there. is the 99mb new releases one the final version, cd quality, 320?

Favorite parts of the record? Favorite guitar or bass line? Favorite drum melody? Best chris vocal moment? Best lyrics? The chorus that everyone will be singing along to at the next Coldplay show? Best atmospheric or ambience moment ala VLV's Life in Technicolors opening sounds and the Asian sounding electronics that follow, or The Escapists Eno sounding ambiance...but for Mylo of course small moments, moments on the album that made you happy.

I loved Death and All his friends, and The Escapist and they actualy may be my favourite off VLV, and they sort of dealt with what we know is the concept of this record, two people, in love, who are trying to escape a currupt society. How well does the concept work on MX? Is it a concept album completely, or are thier some songs that dont fit into the theme?

They played Clark County Ampitheater a little outside portland in 08. Its been awhile since they played oregon or portland proper. Why dont you guys play the Rose Garden or something? Or Memorial Colesium. Saw Arcade Fire at the memorial in 2010. Play portland, or Eugene!

additionally, the fact that its been well known that chris doesnt allow gwenyth to hear the albums until close to the release date. gwenyth herself tweeted a photo of the album just the other day meaning she finally got a copy and listened to it. the fact that she got a copy, and then it leaked i think are not a coincidence. im not suggesting she leaked it, but i am suggesting that the band sent out copies, final copies of the album to people, their family, the press, just the other day and that the leak we have is a result of someone in that group leaking it. additionally, i cant remember if it was chris and the guys, or if it was solely gwenyth, but one or the other was saying how they only hear the finished product, they dont hear it in any other form. chris and the other guys dont like to let others hear unfinished songs, they only want them to hear the final finished product. That in and of itself sort of rules out the idea they'd even make a promo or an unifnished album. if they wont let people hear unfinished product, and that fact has made it into press reports, meaning its well known, why would they release or record an album, unfinished and full of mistakes. ive maintained for awhile, i think the mistakes are intentional. what other explanation is there? Why would someone like chris who has publicly said he's shy and worried about how the product sounds, and only lets people hear a finished song, why would he and the band agree to play the unfinished songs on the BBC? Thats sort of why i really didnt get the argument earlier today.

this all reminds me a little of radioheads king of limbs and the whole controversy that arose about whether the 8 songs on that album were real, or were part 1 of a double album, or all this stuff. granted, the case that they were releasing more material and that indeed this was part 1 of part 2 was way more convincing in the radiohead case, but still the reaction from each fan base is very similar. people convinced this couldnt be it, the final product. to me, the promo cd theory falls flat on multiple levels. i cant think of many albums in the last 4 or 5 years that have had unfinished versions of them leaked only to find on the albums actual release date that the leak was unfinished and the final product was on shelves. i can think of very few examples of that. Think of the major albums released in the last few years, Radiohead's last two records, Eminem's albums, Kanye's, i never saw an unifinished album released prior to the real leak. never. If the band is as perfectionist as people are making it sound like, why would they release an album, unfinished, mistakes and all, and give that to people like the BBC and whoever else. what band, further what artist in any medium would give unfinished product to the press to review? would Martin Scorsese allow the press and others to see an unfinished and unedited film? would Damien Hurst allow the press to see a painting that was unfinished? Its a pretty insane idea, and one few artists in any medium, film, music, painting, would go along with. What artist would want an unfinished product judged by anyone? given that the BBC version and the leak we have differ so little, beyond volume and overall quality of sound, you'd have to believe that Coldplay let the BBC play an unfinished, not ready, mistake filled album to millions of listeners worldwide, and or, that the BBC was duped, and that Coldplay decided that they wanted to unveil a few songs, unfinished, mistake filled, not ready songs to an audience of millions and failed to tell the BBC that the album was unfinished and not final. Seems to me the facts of the issue are leaning heavily towards this is the final product, but that we will have a higher quality rip by tomorrow, but that the mistakes and production that people are complaining about will be intact.

im not going to show support for either downloading or supporting the label, because lets face it, you honestly think the majority of the money you spend on the album goes to them? I think there are many ways to support coldplay. buying shirts and merchandice and tickets are much more worthwhile. chris and the guys get the majority of that money. whereas with cd sales, they get about a dollar a cd. yes that cd you buy at the store for 15 bucks, or for 10 bucks on itunes, the band only gets about a buck 50 on each unit sold. which is absurd. All artists, coldplay, and everyone else, deserve more than a dollar! You buy a 20/30 dollar coldplay shirt and they are getting the majority of the profit. Same with a 50 dollar concert ticket. they get alot of that. I think its wise to help support the band. but supporting the band would probably be more beneficial to chris and the guys if we supported them in ways that got them the most money.

illegal downloading effects record sales. just read billboard, you really think the top album of the week sells 100,000 copies? earlier this year, in jan, feb and march, you had tom of top albums of the week selling something like 70,000 copies. yes, they will be selling about of records, but i think most people get music illegally nowadays, rightly or wrongly. its effected album sales, clearly. EMI, views illegal downloaders as criminals who deserve to be fined millions of dollars or who deserve to be thrown in jail. The entire industry or at least the Record labels, the majors feel this way as well. the fact they view downloaders the same way they viewed them over a decade ago is all the evidence you need. EMI has a vested interest in making sure more people buy it than download it. The leak spread like wildfire, and i think thats indicative of how most people hear and consume music in 2011. The fact that EMI have created such a murky cloud for some of you, seems to me, bizaare and strange given what we know about labels and filesharing.

its split 50/50. you have EMI saying its not the final version, and you have many on here claiming, that because the cd has mistakes its not final, and some on here say the BBC version that they played is different to the one we have. yet on the flip side, you have the fact that many folks say the BBC version is exactly the same, only better quality, higher quality. And you have the fact that it seems unlikely this close to the release, that their would be someone who leaked a promo album, but not the real version. why would 7 days out, a promo be leaked but not the real album. Also, the status of BBC's leak, or streaming is also the question of the hour. It seems highly unlikely the BBC would play a promo of an album, with the band right there in studio. The date for this album has been set for awhile. I dont think they would play a promo. they'd play the real one or nothing at all. what artist would allow the promo to be heard and judged? Gweneth didnt even have a copy until was it yesterday? anyone that claims its one or the other doesnt know what they are talking about.

yep, it was only me who suggested that this isnt the final version. even though not one post on this thread, written by me, suggests anything about my view on if its final or not. i have no once uttered an opinion on this thread about if its final or not. that said, yeah, i agree, i am, the only person, on this thread, and elsewhere on the internet, arguing that this is the final version(even though i never said it was the final version or not) Once i log off, no one else will be arguing and saying its the final version.
