Yes comrades. . . been a long time. Been on my holidays see? Very nice it was too. Went to a place called Spain. Mallorca to be precise. So . . . as I remember the last time we spoke I was just about to play at that Edinburgh Castle? The show was pretty good as I remember it. Didn't rain anyway which is always a bonus up in Scotland (which is where Edinburgh is!). Now after that we had a few days off. Then flew to Japan for 72 hours to do that festival Fuji Rock. Very good it was too. It didn’t rain there either which might be the first year that's ever happened. Managed to stay on English time so didn't feel too bad at all. I almost enjoyed it!!!! As I was sleeping all day and up all night I managed to catch that Olympic opening ceremony which was on Japanese tv at 6:00 in the morning. Very psychedelic. Didn't see it all mind. How long did it go on for? 9 hours or summat? Good though eh? Arrived back in old England and because I'd stayed on UK time guess what? NO JET LAG!!!!!!!!! Unbelievable. I'm definitely trying that next time I'm over there (whenever that'll be I don't know!). Anyway . . . after that me and Team NG legged it to Spain for a week or so. Needed it to be honest. Nowt like sitting in the sun. When we got back to old England we'd managed to blag some tickets to that last Saturday at the Olympic stadium. Now I've been to the biggest sporting events on the planet and I've done some monster shows but to be in that stadium and feel the noise and witness the fitness of the great Mo Farah was simply incredible. I have to say when the toffs what run our country started spouting waffle about the Olympics and how it would bring out the best in us blah, blah, blah I was - like most of us I expect – thinking "oh fuck off!" and I've never been one for that last night at the proms bollocks (it's the Celt in me see?) but I have to say they were right. You couldn't fail to be moved. Saying that - thank God the football's back. I was up at the pre-season kickabout that is the Charity Shield between God's own team and some other mob called "Chelsea". We won. In style. Looked awesome. I'm very excited about the new season as this tour finishes in November, which means I'll get to see most of it!!! Now . . . that brings me to Wednesday night. Did a little acoustic gig for that charity Warchild at that little club in Camden called Dingwalls. Great night. Rowdy as fuck. Could barely hear myself think! Which brings me to today and the here and now. You find me in the great city of Vienna in the great nation of Austria. Back on the festival circuit. Not sure how any of the songs go now. I'll have to wing it. Wish me luck. ONWARDS. GD. Photo: Fujirock Festival

From Live4ever forum, high quality recording of the acoustic gig. FLAC only: Part 1 - http://www.mediafire.com/?w2j1aw92x85295v Part 2 - http://www.mediafire.com/?esca9imhp16usl3 And some articles from yesterday: Noel Gallagher: 'Beady Eye had to ask permission to play 'Wonderwall'' High Flyings Birds man also confirms he turned down the chance to perform himself http://www.nme.com/news/noel-gallagher/65529 Noel Gallagher dedicates 'Wonderwall' to 'Stratford's finest Oasis tribute band' at London gig Singer mocks brother Liam's performance at the Olympic closing ceremony http://www.nme.com/news/noel-gallaghers-high-flying-birds/65517 At firts I didn't like that Noel said something like this about Beady Eye. But then I realized that they are doing it on purpose. Before Fuji Rock Festival, Liam said this in an interview: "My mum told us we ought to chill out after that suing thing. I went, 'All right, cool'." He adds: "I can't talk to him, but I've never hated him. He's doing his thing and I'll do mine. But I did enjoy our little spats - since we called a truce the world's just boring. It's been hell. We need to get the party started again! Maybe in Japan…" And after that he called Noel's band "High Flying Smurfs", he wrote this monday on Twitter "Bumped into the biggest cock last night at George Michael’s party, “behave” it was RKID ha ha LG x" and now Noel is starting to saying sh*t too. It's obvious that they are playing with the press, like in the '90. Welcome to this thread!

Beady Eye
Yes, this arrangement sounded exactly like the album. I thought it was going to be a new version. :inquisitive: "The former Oasis star will perform a new arrangement of iconic Noel track Wonderwall with bandmates Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock. David Arnold, one of the top producers in the world, has been in AIR Studio in north London this week working on a new, epic orchestral arrangement." http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/bizarre/4439355/Liam-Gallagher-to-sing-Wonderwall-at-closing-ceremony.html#ixzz23WsF42gk I think he was just saying that putting Beady Eye instead of Noel was a mistake. But Noel said he didn't want to do it. Something like this would have been epic: [ame= ] [/ame]

Beady Eye
Well, Noel refused to do it so they asked Liam. It was ok. At first I think Liam was nervous and he was out of tune. But then it was fine. Not great, just fine. I know he can't sing anymore like in 1996, it's a shame. But for me it was weird seeing the words Beady Eye on the drum kit and listening Wonderwall at the same time. I don't know why. With Rock 'n' Roll Star and Morning Glory it was fine for me. I think it was because Noel sang so many times this song. And it was so confused for the people on Twitter. I saw many people writing "Why Oasis is call Beady Eye now?". Or "Why a band called Beady Eye is covering an Oasis song?" :D

Beady Eye
So, Beady Eye played Wonderwall last night at the olympics. Video here: [ame= ] [/ame] Audio here: [ame= ] [/ame] And Liam just wrote this on Twitter: "Bumped into the biggest cock last night at George Michael’s party, “behave” it was RKID ha ha LG x" :shocked2:

It's only seat tickets or they are also standing? I don't think is going to be sold out next week. With Oasis it was different. Here in Argentina, 45.000 people went to see Oasis, 10.000 went to see Noel and it wasn't sold out.

So, long time without posting. Noel is too lazy lately and he doesn't write his Tales anymore. :( To keep this a little bit more alive, I'm going to post one new video, from Fuji Rock Festival. He was headline on Saturday. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SAQ0OoJNZrI]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SAQ0OoJNZrI[/ame]

Now the information is everywhere. I'm not against Beady Eye playing there, it's good publicity for them. But why Wonderwall? And I hope they don't play it electric. I hate it. So happy for you! Do you live in Bangkok or it's far from where you live?

It was amazing. Argentina was leaving behind many years of dictatorship. It was very emotional. Here you have a video from Youtube. [ame= ] [/ame] I took those pics from Twitter. I think Noel would be Grouchy smurf. :D ------------------------------ I didn't know where to put this, because not so many people read Beady Eye thread, but I just saw this on The Sun. I know half of the stories printed there are sh*t but it's interesting. Liam Gallagher to sing Wonderwall at closing ceremony http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/bizarre/4439355/Oliampic-Games.html It's strange if he chose Wonderwall. I think I read once that he hates it. It would be better sing Rock 'n' Roll Star.

My dad love him too! He went to see him in 1988. It was a mega concert for Amnesty International with Bruce Springsteen, Peter Gabriel, Sting, Youssou N'Dour, Tracy Chapman and more local artists. But the star of the show was Bruce. I saw the gig on TV. He was amazing. On topic again, another photo that made me laugh.

Noel Gallagher
You are seeing Bruce Springsteen twice this year, lucky you! I've always want to see him live. He only came here once, in 1988. I was too small, only 7 years old, but I was already in love with him. :laugh3: And when I was living in France, I didn't have money. :(
-
Noel Gallagher
I hope too. Why you can't go? You have to go to work or school? Here in Buenos Aires, I traveled 45km to see him, but it was a sunday night. I know that I said that I was mad at Liam for what he wrote but this made me laugh. :laugh3:

Interesting bit on NME about the AA album: Speaking previously about his plans for the collaboration with Amorphous Androgynous, Gallagher said that he would be restarting work on the record this month. He said of this: "I've got a break in the middle of this tour in July, so now the plan is to do something then, and then to finish it off after the tour in October. So it might come out at the end of the year, but it's more likely to be next year now." The guitarist also said he was keen to make sure the album matched his high standards, adding: "I set the benchmark pretty high with this record ['Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds'], and I'm not just putting a record for the fucking sake of it. At the moment it's not a great record – so it won't come out until it is." http://www.nme.com/news/noel-gallagher/64969?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=fanpage-nmenews-noelgallagher

New Tales From The Middle Of Nowhere: OK comrades. I don't have much time. Long time? Just can't seem to keep up during festival season. Too much going on. Here goes anyway . . . So let's go back to what seems a lifetime ago now to the south of France. Can't remember the actual town/city I was in but it was beautiful. Blistering sunshine. Might have actually got a little bit sunburned!! Always a good look eh? So the gig was going really, really, well, it was actually shaping up to be one of the greatest when right at the end of the 4th song . . . DREAM ON I believe . . . BANG the power went!! Stage in full darkness . . . total silence!! It took 20 minutes to get things up and running again and by that time the moment had passed so to speak. Shame, it really was gonna be a good 'un. Still the mighty Franz Ferdinand were on next (yes you cheeky fuckers they ACTUALLY ARE still going!). So I'm sure they brought proceedings to an adequate close. Next up was Berne in Switzerland. Truly stunning city. I kid you not it has a river running through it and the water is BLUE...ACTUALLY FUCKING BLUE!!!!!!!!?????? Unbelievable. Bought a lovely pair of shoes too. The festival is a good 'un. Done it many times. Up the top of a mountain. I was on first though . . . FIRST!!!! The actual first person onstage was me!!! Last time I played there I HEADLINED it!! Fame is a cruel mistress comrades. It was like playing at breakfast. Bizarre. We did great though. Enjoyed it. So, after that I think we drove back to France, to Lyon to be exact. I remember on the drive there we watched that film PULP FICTION. My other guitarist - who's name escapes me now - had never seen it . . . NEVER SEEN PULP FICTION??????? Like..fuck me!!! Unbelievable. Lyon was great. Pissed down the minute we got there. It was warm rain though. The wind got blowing in such a way that by the time we took the stage it was raining onstage . . . raining onstage? Another first. The gig was a blinder though. Really, really good. So . . . then . . . on to Benicassim. If you've never been to Beni' then you really should try and get there. If only for the weather. Beautiful. It was my 100th show as a solo artist thing and I have to say it was definitely the best gig of the tour no question, but I tell you this, it might well have been one of the best shows I've ever done, EVER. It was that good. If you are reading this and you happened to be in that crowd I thank you. You were immense. Truly special. You made it a great, great night. IZ'FUCKIN RIGHT!!! I was on before the Stone Roses again. They also smashed it. Crushed it even. We partied hard. Seen the sun rise. A magical, magical night. You currently find me in Edinburgh. Playing at the castle tonight. Then 8 days off!!! I'm looking forward to some of that. ONWARDS. GD. When I read this I understand why he doesn't want to stop this tour. He seems really happy.

He seems happy with this tour, like he says in this interview at 1:15. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0kq2lTBuNU&list=UU10DG3enEhKiOEmyu_eEzuA&index=2&feature=plcp]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0kq2lTBuNU&list=UU10DG3enEhKiOEmyu_eEzuA&index=2&feature=plcp[/ame] I want a new record too, but if he is enjoying touring I'm fine with that.
