Oh. :blank: Never had to play a recorder. I doubt you'll be able to play one for regular band--probably the closest thing you're going to get to a recorder in regular band is a clarinet. Hmm . . . that's problematic then. Although once you're in high school, you'll probably be able to take IB, choral, and band since you'll have most of your credits taken care of.

:wtf: We have seven periods (eight, if you count seminar). Well, if you take choral and band (both electives) then you have room for either two more electives or two core classes :shrug:

Hmm . . . well, as long as you can count, you shouldn't have anything to worry about. Fingerings / slide positions / lip placement / etc. are easier to learn than piano chords. Competitions :mellow: Heh. We make fun of the flutes because no on can hear them :P

OMG you'd be a band geek :cheesy: :awesome: You're going to have so much fun if you join (your band does go to competition and stuff, right?) You might be able to play piano for concert season (or if your school has a jazz band) but if there's a marching / pep season you'll have to take up something else.

Depends on what instrument it is :shrug: I learned tenor sax after clarinet, but it was pretty easy because they're both woodwinds and the fingerings are pretty much the same. But if you were moving from piano to, say, trumpet, it would probably be kind of difficult.
