Psychic Dissonance From The Unself is the name of the second album from the NYC band 'Candidate'. Allright, I'll stop the spiel. Truth is, I'm in this band. I wanted to come out of lurking to share it with you guys since, well 1) I'm in the band and 2) I'm very very influenced by Coldplay. Specifically Viva La Vida. To be truthful, I don't think much of Coldplay's sound actually comes through in ours, but we call it Dreamrock. Being that you are my fellow Coldplay fans, it would mean the world to me if you took a moment to check it out! Candidate is a band from NYC, not to be confused with the UK act of the same name. The music draws inspiration heavily from the likes of The Stone Roses, Coldplay, The Cure, The Beatles, Krautrock, and Bowie. Greetings gentlepersons. My name is Laurence, I play lead guitar in a fairly unknown band named Candidate that is putting out our debut album on June 10th - created in Lexington Ky & New York City. I'm here at Coldplaying.com because for about the third time I've been told by fans that some of our stuff reminds them of Coldplay. While I don't hear it (personally I think we're more between The Stone Roses & The Cure), I love Coldplay and really appreciate the comparison.
