  1. My only big gripe is with Another's Arms, which seems to be a bit awkwardly produced. The vocals have some strange effects, and the instrumentals seem too electronic. The live version sounded a lot better in my opinion. Reminds me of how I felt about Hurts Like Heaven when the album version came out. Unnecessary effects thrown onto a song I really enjoyed the live version of. I really like this album so far though. It's a very sweet, understated piece of pop-rock with some really catchy tracks. Really tugs on the heart-strings too. Perhaps one of Coldplays most cohesive and tight albums in a while?
  2. My opinion: 6/10. It's the same thing over and over again. Although it is catchy, it's equally annoying. It's too synthy and Johnny's guitar isn't unpacked until the very end. And while they claimed it to be a narrative, it doesn't tell much of a story. The lyrics are cheesy. But heck, I still have trouble hating any Coldplay song. It does have some cool bass, and it sounds like Champion isn't giving his set any mercy. This song seems to follow a similar path to Every Teardrop, but the predecessor is more tolerable in my opinion. I just can't deal with no guitar for 4/5 of the song. Despite this song being a flop in my mind, I still have high hopes for Mylo Xyloto. After all, four out of the six songs we've heard so far [from the album] have been absolutely genius.
  3. It sounds like a top ten pop song to me. I hate most pop music and I'm kind of sad the boys are taking this route. However, it's only a preview, and I still have hope in the song. They've never made a total piece of crap before, well... Actually the have. It's called Every Teardrop. :P
