It's called pom pom, and is out November 18 via 4AD. The record is credited to just Pink, rather than Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti. Radiohead
Radiohead Update PolyFauna App with New Music, Visuals Earlier this year, Radiohead premiered their PolyFauna app, described by frontman Thom Yorke as a project coming "from an interest in early computer-life experiments and the imagined creatures of our subconscious". By combining imagery and sounds from The King of Limbs sessions - more specifically, "Bloom" - the band found a new way to delve deeper the album's aesthetic. Now, it appears that the app has been given a massive update, with previously unheard music and even more forlorn landscapes. Objekt Announces Debut Album for PAN It’s been a long wait, but Objekt – one of the most striking techno producers to emerge in the last-half decade – has finally announced his debut album. For somebody who’s been attracting extremely favourable critical notice sine 2011, Objekt – aka Berlin-based Brit TJ Hertz – hasn’t exactly put out oodles of music, limiting his recorded footprint to a couple of slimline singles a year. Such has been the case in 2014, which has brought us new track ‘Balloons’ (on a split release on Power Vacuum), a split release with Dopplereffekt for Hypnagogia, and precious little else. November will see the producer practically double his output in one fell swoop with the release of his debut album. Flatland will arrive on avant-electronic stable PAN, and promises 11 tracks of meticulous techno, assembled with the sort of care and precision you might expect from a Native Instruments programmer. Pulled together between 2012 and 2014, the album presumably takes its inspiration from the 1884 Edwin Abbott Abbott novel of the same name, and promises “a world in which any scene can be seen from every angle at once” – a neat description of the sharp angles and high-def precision of Hertz’s best work. http://www.factmag.com/2014/09/02/objekt-announces-debut-album-for-pan/

Charli XCX Announces New Album Sucker, Shares "Break the Rules" Charli XCX has announced her new album, the follow up to last year's True Romance. It's called Sucker, and it's out October 21 via Neon Gold/Atlantic. "The song is inspired by a lot of the things I was listening to whilst in Sweden at the end of last year," she told Buzzfeed. "I spent about a month making a punk record and covering songs by Swedish punk bands like Snuffed By The Yakuza and stuff. This song was written when I came out of the other side of that punk phase and translated it into something more pop. Obviously, it’s about not giving a fuck." Aphex Twin Announces New Album Syro - See the Tracklist and Artwork You’ve seen the blimp. You’ve seen the stencil. Now there’s this – a tweet from Aphex Twin’s official account containing an url ending with .onion, the suffix associated with TOR browsers and what Silk Road users will be familiar with as the “deep web”. The URL leads to some text appears to contain an album title – SYRO – and a list of 12 tracks alongside what we’d reckon to be their BPMs. http://www.factmag.com/2014/08/18/aphex-twin-announces-syro-album-tracklist-and-artwork/

An Aphex Twin Blimp Is Flying Over London Richard D. James is doing something this year, or so it would seem. Right now, flying above the Oval Space in London, there's a green blimp with the year "2014" written on the side. In place of the zero is the Aphex Twin logo, NME reports. It's unclear what the blimp is teasing, but any moves from James this year would be a huge deal. Aside from the Caustic Window record that made the rounds via Kickstarter earlier this year, he hasn't released a proper LP since 2001's Drukqs. Back in 2011, he premiered new music in Poland. His last string of live appearances were in 2011 and 2012, including a set at the 2011 Pitchfork Music Festival Paris. In 2010, he said he had six albums completed. http://pitchfork.com/news/56339-an-aphex-twin-is-blimp-flying-over-london/

Grouper Unveils Skeletal New Album Ruins Liz Harris has been enthralling audiences with her very special blend of voice and reverberation for some time at this point, and her releases are always perfectly paced and stunningly well-realized. Her next chapter, entitled Ruins, is no different. Recorded almost entirely in Aljezur, Portugal while Harris was taking part in a residency, it might be the most stripped-down set of songs she’s released so far. The songs came about when Harris happened upon a room with an upright piano – she had a 4-track Sony recorder with her, so that became her setup. After long walks through the ruins of a small village nearby, she would sit at the piano and process, in her own words, “a lot of political anger and emotional garbage.” The result is the most naked, raw recordings we’ve heard from Harris – a far cry from the comparatively sunny Dragging a Dead Deer up a Hill. Fittingly, it’s set for release on Halloween – we can’t imagine a more perfect time to enjoy it. http://www.factmag.com/2014/08/14/grouper-unveils-skeletal-new-album-ruins/
