Still have my card from last year by my desk so I'm in again (PM sent Santa).

Apologies, only just seen this thread. Many thanks to LilactheColdplayer for her lovely letter, pictures and all the glitter!! A really great idea, sign me up for next year!!!
  3. Where is this? Is there a "pit" at the front because from the pictures it doesn't look as though there is one.
  4. I don't know about the Emirates but most venues have 1 or 2 GA entrances (despite reports from others, Wembley only has two as well), both open at the same time and both are in similar positions on either side of the ground. I've turned up a couple of hours before doors open and got in the "pit" for U2 gigs so unless you want to be right on the front, don't worry about being there for too long before it starts.
  5. Most of the other stadiums are out in the middle of nowhere and probably have older music licences. The Emirates is pretty new and in a built up area so the curfew for noise will be earlier. I think Twickenham have a similar issue.
  6. Tickets are here. For those wondering when to queue, like others, I've been to Wembley (old and new) and getting there at 9 gets you near the front. For right at the front, you'll have people arriving the night before. I don't know whether Coldplay use a "pit" area the way bands such as U2 do. If they do, those that get into that get a wristband and can then go into and out of the pit for the rest of the show (so you can go to the loo and get your place back). If they don't, you might be in for a long day (unless you go off one at a time). To be honest, when I've not got into the "pit", I've stayed at the back (near the bars at Wembley - natch!) and then once the show has started, walk forward through the crowd. There are times when people are that busy jumping around, you can get quite a long way forward without having to have stood there all day.
  7. Has anyone been to a concert at the Etihad in the recent past? I went there once to see U2 and the organisation was shambolic to say the least. Outside, no barriers telling you where to queue up for GA, when the gates opened, another set of doors nobody knew about opened so people at the back of the queue managed to jump their way to the front. U2 has a "pit" at the front which everywhere else was for first in the queue to get into (where you'd get a wristband), security were selling the wrist bands (at least £5 a time) and not giving them out so the pit was really empty. (Let's see if they try the same trick with the Xylobands). U2's manager hearing about the chaos allegedly sacked the company on the spot but I've heard of trouble at other concerts there. Don't want to put a dampner on what will be a great day but would like to hear that things have improved.
  8. Has anyone had their reprinted tickets yet? All very well them asking for them back to reprint but when will the new ones come along, anyone know?
  9. Hi All, Ok, so I was well and truely chuffed to get tickets for the Emmirates on the Friday June 1st. Brownie points with the good lady wife, plus points from my mates, except I thought June 1st was Half term week (half the people going are teachers) and we can't get down to London on a Friday night for when the show starts. So we've got replacement tickets for Manchester (hate the venue but it'll do in these circumstances) and I now have 6 tickets for the Emmirates on Friday June 1st. Standing tickets that cost £49.50. I'm willing to let them go in pairs, or two sets of three or all six, just so long as I don't get left with one. Cost price, no booking fee. No swaps as we're already going elsewhere. Let me know! UPDATE These tickets have now gone to a group of fans from Norway who've never seen Coldplay before. Glad to be helping them out!
  10. Nightmare traffic coming out, a couple of prangs (not us) in the snow on the M56 and didn't get back to Nottingham until 1:30am. However, what a superb night and a fantastic show, certainly up there with one of the best I've seen. I remember my first Coldplay gig (many years ago) when I was told to sit down! I don't think you'd get away with that now. Didn't know about the wristbands before we got there so when they all lit up at the start it was a breath-taking sight. Politik and God Put A Smile On Your Face, my two stand out songs of the night but nothing disappointed. Still, does anyone know how to make the wristbands start flashing again? My kids don't believe me (even though I've shown them the video). Well done Manchester, great night!
  11. If they haven't announced it now, it isn't going to happen. Hate to be blunt (and apologies to those who didn't get tickets) but what did you expect? Take that sold about half a million tickets in 30 minutes earlier in the year so abut 40,000 for Coldplay aren't going to be around for long. This problem has been around for as long as TicketMaster and if the bands are happy with it (they don't appear to be doing anything about it) then it'll stay like that. Be grateful there was a 2-ticket limit else a lot more people will miss out. From my experience, people at the companies (Ticketmaster, See Tickets et al) save a lot of tickets for themselves and friends before they go on official sale so that, come sale time, there aren't many left. The fact that that maing "secondary ticket" website is owned and run by the main ticketing website stinks as far as I'm concerned but, as I say, the bands and record companies keep quiet so it'll just carry on.
  12. busybeeburns, of course it is. At three UK venues there are, at best, 40,000 tickets available. There are a lot more people than that want to go and see them. They'll need a take-that-esque stint at Wembley Stadium to please everyone but unlike Take That, they've got an American leg of the tour to fit in somewhere.
  13. ironfist7997, in many years of buying tickets for U2, Coldplay and various others, I know that Ticketmaster will never learn.
  14. Limited European dates, no American dates. I think they'll be back in the summer with a few stadium shows. This is just the warm up.
