  1. Yeah...I'm not sure they'd be able to rush even if they tried! Way too laid back!!!
  2. haha yeah...that is true...BUT...who says they haven't been working on it already? I mean, still hugely unlikely...but the possibility of it is exciting!
  3. Hmm...that would make an awful lot of sense. But I don't know. To my eyes, MX is stronger than it ever has been, the tour is coming to an end, Live 2012 is just about to be released and its expected to do really well especially over the holiday season. In early 2013 the comics are being released which will rekindle interest in the album. It would surely be a sensible commercial move to release the EP at around the same time, comprising of the original album plus a second disk with the extra songs (and perhaps extra content related to the comics?) That would definitely continue to sell for a few months, maybe with a few gigs here and there. That would definitely keep things going until the next LP. Maybe an EP could even bridge the gap and help link MX to the next LP. If so, maybe the next LP will follow quickly, lining them up for the festival season of 2013 and a late 2013 LP release with a tour starting in 2014? I really don't know. It's certainly going to be fascinating to see how it progresses from here!
  4. I would be tempted to put money on it being called Car Kids...aaand maybe it being something more to do with the comics? I can see that being the second half of the MX era. That said...I might be way off!! It would be awesome though!
  5. Okay so I have no idea if there's already a thread on this...but I'm thinking the following things are starting to hint towards an MX EP under production? 1) lots of pictures and reports of the band and various other people in studios in Australia in recent days and weeks. 2) A reply from the Oracle regarding the band being in studio: "you know that thing that musicians usually go into a studio for? Well, that's why. That's not unusual by the way but that's all I will say." 3) It would make sense, following the Prospekt's March EP after Viva 4) Chris has said in multiple interviews that there were an awful lot of songs they wanted to put onto MX but didn't make the cut. Like with Viva, an EP would be the obvious answer wouldn't it?! Is this something we can expect? I really hope they do it, mainly because I don't want the MX era to end yet!! :laugh3:
  6. It's not a song really...Chris plays a weird sounding chord on his guitar and then hits the repeater pedal...if you watch you can see him stamp on it just before he leaves the stage. It just keeps that chord playing over and over to keep sound going while they peg it back to the main stage! It'd be a pretty weird song :P
  7. Yeah, that does rule out the shipping issue somewhat. And no, I think there are different promoters for each leg of the tour? For example I think it was SJM concerts for the London shows in June. I suspect the most likely thing is a promoter issue. If the current promoter has pulled out, fingers crossed they find another one quickly and get the shows back on track!
  8. That's what made me wonder if its a visa problem, maybe some of the crew or less likely the band themselves have had problems getting visas to enter some of the countries on this leg? It's happened to bands before! I can't imagine why there would be a problem...but it would explain the random timing of the announcement!
  9. I wonder if its something logistical? Visa problems maybe? Or something to do with moving the set? The fact that they haven't cancelled the rest of their Australia leg or the New York shows in December would suggest that its not something more drastic than that! Fingers crossed everything's ok with them! No doubt more will come out over the next few days! I'm pretty sure they wouldn't do something like this lightly though!
  10. That must have been where I saw it then :')
  11. Not confirmed at all...but I have seen on other threads on here and just on the web in general that The Scientist and DLIBYH are bonus tracks on the DVD/CD...if thats true, I cant understand why they wouldn't have included it at the cinema showings?! But still...fingers crossed! :D
  12. I wasn't sure what to expect...I was hoping there would be some participation from the audience! Throughout the whole thing I was either playing the drums on my legs or playing air guitar :') (much to the embarrassment of my brother who was sat next to me!) I think the good old British stiff upper lip was in force though, and most people just quietly tapped their feet or nodded along to the beat. I had the overhwelming urge to stand up and do the Viva chant along with Will when it started, but thought I might get thrown out...so probably better not to!
  13. I actually love this review :') You've managed to capture the madness of the whole show in one post!! BRAVO! :laugh3:
  14. yeah, I think it did quite a good job, contrasting Paris with Glastonbury and then Montreal, but it would've been awesome to include loads of other venues, maybe just for one song? Charlie Brown perhaps? That would've looked amazing!
  15. Argh thats a really hard one! I guess it depends on why she's not keen on you going?! If its the cost, maybe offer to pay for some of it (I'm guessing you've probably thought of that already!) Or make sure she knows what a rare opportunity it is to get to see a band like CP live! If its because she doesn't want you to go for other reasons, then you need to focus on those reasons and reassure her that whatever the problem is, isn't a problem...if that makes sense?! Maybe get her to speak to your friends parents and they can talk about the concerns they're having?! If its a safety thing...remind her how nice coldplayers are!! :D As for whether the tickets are good or not...ANY ticket is a good ticket! I've been to shows where I've gotten the really cheap seats, and just being there makes it completely worth it! Ok so you won't be right at the front staring into the whites of their eyes, but in many ways, you get a better view from the back because you get to see the whole show as a spectacle, all the screens, graphics, lasers, lights, confetti etc etc. And you never know, your cheap seats might end up being right next to the C stage so you'd only be 5 feet from the band! Sorry not to be more help! and good luck convincing your mum!!
  16. Just got back from Vue in Portsmouth. ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!! The cinema was actually nearly full which I was impressed with! I thought the film was incredibly well done, the way the graphics and everything from the screens on stage spilled over into the film was incredibly clever, especially during HLH, Charlie Brown, Paradise and Clocks! I must admit, before seeing it I was worried that missing songs like The Scientist, LiJ and DLIBYH would take away from the film, but with the documentary parts filling the gaps between songs, it flowed perfectly and was about the right length I think! Definitely worth staying for the end after the credits, Chris' chocolate button soliloquy was so funny :') I think it captured the emotion and the atmosphere of the live show perfectly (of course not as good though! :P ) and EVEN THOUGH I said I wouldn't, a little tear came to my eye during Fix You...so overwhelming when the drums crash in! I cannot wait for the dvd to arrive next week! My only complaint??? It wasn't loud enough in our cinema!!! Also...an afterthought perhaps, I thought it was a shame that it focussed so heavily on the Paris show. Obviously it was great for continuity, but I wished more footage had come from the Emirates in London! Then again...I would say that because that was the show I saw!!! 10/10!!!! :D
  17. Ahh thats really annoying! I booked at Vue in Portsmouth, not too far away from Brighton by train! (If you're desperate to see it in cinema that is!) I have heard that some people have had success with Cineworld, but I still can't see anything about it on their site. Not good :/
  18. Nothing from Cineworld yet :/ Vue cinemas have now updated their site to include the vast majority of their cinemas, so thats an option if theres one near you? I have noticed that you can only book up to 7 days in advance with Cineworld so maybe they're waiting until then to release the tickets?
  19. Hi All Just a quick question...having seen the show at the Emirates a couple of weeks ago and watching what is probably an unhealthy number of YouTube videos, I am fascinated by the screen graphics for the whole show but particularly during HLH and Charlie Brown...does anyone have any idea if there are GIFs of them online anywhere? Or even high quality videos of them? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Cheers :)
  20. The pictures look great! Bit of an odd question, does it mean that there will be a different stage setup for the Emirates shows? Obviously the current stadium stage is being used in Coventry! Hopefully they do use the current set up...because it looks amazing even in daylight!
