  1. Where did Martin or Co said that...? Hi! I think that somewhere Chris said, that Coldplay had to change the sound of there music to be compatible etc. on the contemporary music market. I think it was in an interview? Do you have an idea? Furthermore, Chris always says that they have to improve and to work harder while working on a particular album. Do you have any quotes and sources about this in mind? I thank you very, very much! Kind regards Linus
  2. That's exactly the way I mean it. Those guitar lines are brilliant and they are still ringing in your ears after you have heard them. Thanks for the video! It's a really good example. Thousands of people singing to the guitar line of In My Place. That's a big compliment to Jonny. Thank you very much to you all for contributing to my question. If "there['s] anybody out there" ;) who knows the answer to my question please comment! BEST Linus (sitting at a desk in snowy and unpleasant Germany)
  3. Of course, by doing it with the vocal chords he undoubtedly is. But someone compared the guitar lines Jonny is doing, for example in 'In My Place', to a kind of singing performance. I did without success. That's why I think it was in documentary... I think so, too. The way he plays guitar is really intimate and subtle. No just cranking the amp and have one power chord after the other. Those melodies are really nice to listen to and I think one big reason why Coldplay is compared to U2 that much.
  4. Hi! Well, I don't know where I heard or read about it. It must have been an article or kind of documentary saying that Jonny is actually the second singer in the band cause he plays such beautiful melodies on his guitar, contributing to Chris's vocal lines. Perhaps you know where I can find it. I need this again for my thesis about Coldplay! Thank you all folks! BEST Linus
  5. OH, okay! Once again in the Q! Thank's a lot! Best Linus
  6. Where is this quote from? Hi Guys, who of you knows where this quote is from? When and where did Chris say that? "I was so nervous of us fucking up our chance I'd become obsessed with whether we were a technically good band or not." Thank you very much! BEST Linus
  7. Thank's made. That was exactly what I was searching for ;-) Best
  8. "Rock 'n' Roll is about..." when&where did Chris say that? Dear All, Does someone of you guys know when & where Chris said the following sentences? „Rock ’n’ Roll is about doing what the fuck you want. It doesn’t have to be about doing huge amounts of drugs or being hedonistic. It’s about not caring what anyone else thinks of you. Rock’n’roll is about the seeking of the ultimate pleasure. For us, that means hanging around together and playing music that we all love and not being afraid to say that’s why we’re doing it. We believe in our music, so I’ll lamp any idiot who says we are not rock’n’roll.” I would like to use this quotation in a term paper but for doing so I will need the source of these sentences. Thank you in advance! Best Linus
