Just wanted to check-in and say thanks for creating Coldplaying, most cool site! I am looking forward to interacting with other members. Just to tell you a little bit about myself... I was born in Surrey, and moved to the US when I got married four years ago. My wife Sara and I are expecting our first child, due February 27, and we are already getting so excited. I have been a fan of Coldplay since before they were signed and am very passionate about the guys and their music. In the profile we are asked to name our favourite album and I really had to think as there are tracks on each that compile my favourites. I settled on Viva la Vida for personal reasons, and I'm honoured to know the foundation of its existence. In my opinion, I believe the secret to Coldplay's success is that they are more like a family of brothers than just another 'boy band'. It is obvious the hard work they put into the creation of the tracks, and each album tops the previous one, while still complimenting its predecessors. I am on this site because I would like to interact with other like-minded fans and share our experiences and the excitement of watching Coldplay go from strength-to-strength. Please do feel free to message me any time. I have opened a social group: The Blue Room. Although there is not much there at the moment, over the coming months I am intending on adding more to it. I hope you will feel free to join it and offer any ideas you might have on how we could add a little Yellow into it. Sorry for the typo. Thanks for what you said. I agree, they have made their mark, but as you pointed out, time will tell how they will be remembered in years to come. I'm sorry that others feel the need to criticize an opinion, I was under the impression that this was a site for fans of Coldplay; is it so unusual to find a person who thinks the world of a band they saw grow from the start, expressing their admiration on their fan site? Naturally artists influence artists, it would be foolish to deny it, but the reason bands like the Beatles influenced them was because they reinforced a genre that was not as popular in the 90s. Coldplay produces music we can all enjoy, and while firmly clinging to their original signature, each album shows a progression. Michael Jackson had a long break between his 'Bad' album and 'Dangerous', and the launch of 'Dangerous' was quite a shock to me as it didn't just reflect the genre of the time, but jumped substantially far into the future of music. Michael Jackson reinvented himself in 'Dangerous', and in my humble opinion, lost the signature that 'Off The Wall' had introduced, 'Thriller' reinforced, and 'Bad' complimented. Coldplay has moved from the Beatles genre, with Parachutes, to a touch of electronic in MX, and it has been a gentle progression over time, ensuring that each album builds on their current fan base, rather than alienate sections of it in the hope of finding a new bred. Once again, this is just my opinion.

I personally feel that Coldplay beats Paul McCartney hands down. As for the movie, as I said, it makes no difference what the movie is or what success it has, Coldplay's music is memorable and they may forget the film, but will remember the music. That's all I mean by what I said. I may be wrong, we shall see. If I am, I'll buy you a drink.

WOW! CONGRATULATIONS GUYS!!!!!!!! :D This news is almost as thrilling to me as it was to see you guys playing The Albert Hall, and certainly equals your final competition before you were signed. Take a moment and look back at where you started. I recall that someone once thought that the name Coldplay wouldn't be received well because it was a 'cold' name :-) Guys, on Novemebr 22, 2013, your hard work will pay-off as you see Coldplay become immortalised. Whether the film is a success or not, people will remember the song :-D I cannot tell you how excited I am to read this news. I am slightly in tears as I write as there are two people I know of who can't celebrate this amazing news, both of whom would have been so incredibly proud of what the five of you have achieved in such a comparatively short space of time. It seems to me that every time you produce an album it sets yet another record for you all, the only thing I am waiting for now is for the world music organisations to declare that Coldplay has overtaken The Beetles, The Stones, U2 and R.E.M. I firmly believe that the accolade is soon to come. Keep going and thank you for the great entertainment! :D
