Does the $14 includes taxes? In brooklyn the rate is 6%NYC 4%NYS .375% MTA sales taxes, in Manhattan it is 6%NYC 8% Surcharge 4% NYS and .375%MTA sales taxes. Then multiply that by the hours and then see where that gets ya. If you get street parking, more power to you, Sundays you don't need quarters.

Was going to try to do a Nets game but with the cost of this ticket for me and my boyfriend we decided to skip on basketball this season. Historically we would get Nets tickets to see more desirable basketball teams cheaply like the Celtics. :)

Ive taken the train on New Year's Eve before and it isn't too bad. Usually the MTA will shutdown the stations directly impacted by the ball drop due to crowding conditions (they did this for the thanksgiving day parade and the Giant's parade) and the rest will go on as usual. Just make sure if you are taking the train, don't try to enter the system near the ball drop on the eve.

Is the metronorth not reliable as an option into the city? i know lirr goes until after midnight. If you dont find street parking, you will get killed by the garage rates.

The sales tax on parking in garages in Manhattan is 18.375%. There arent street parking restrictions on sundays if you can find it. From grand central, only the 4 runs on sunday. The 5 is a m-f train and the 6 doesnt go to brooklyn.

However I highly recommend that you check the train websites before leaving, there is a lot of track work on Sundays and it may affect a train you want to take.

I have no idea what a metrocar is as they dont exist. There is nothing wrong with the subway at the hours you would be using it and will be crowded with people. If you mean a taxi, it is expensive, the BQE is the highway of doom and you can get stuck in grid lock and yellow cabs may not be available in Brooklyn after the show. Cost will be $35+ especially if you opt for the tunnel instead of the bridges that are slow and may have lanes closed. The 2/3/4/r/d/n/q/LIRR go there on Sundays and the arena is right at the station. The station is named Atlantic ave-Barclays Center I would check http://www.mta.info for any planned weekend/late night work and the r train may not connect to manhattan due to sandy damage. The subway is less than $5 roundtrip.

I easily got tickets at the $99 and the level just below it during the Citicards presale for myself and a coworker. However, I have noticed in general that sales have been weird on ticketmaster. For example, I was trying to get Lady Gaga tickets for my sister during the presale and general sale and the only tickets available were the most expensive and I was instantly told no tickets were available at a less expensive level when in the past, ticketmaster would refresh for up to 10 minutes looking for tickets or have a waitline. That is what happened when I was purchasing U2 tickets the first time they were at the meadowlands. Makes you wonder how much inventory was really available.

Platinum Tickets I just noticed this on the ticketmaster website for the show on the 31st. They are called Platinum Tickets, I have never seen it for a show before but it seems they are directly from the promoters. Shame you let not knowing the MTA. You say you live 2 hours away which to mean either means New Jersey, Long Island, or Westchester. That means you could've either taken the LIRR or NJT to Penn Station (Or if from Long Island to Jamaica and Transfer to an Atlantic Ave/Barclays-Bound LIRR Train) and taken the 2/3 train to the Barlcays Center (the stop is called Barlcays Center) or the Metro North to Grand Central and taken the 4/5 to the Barlcays Center Station.

I got a set of those seats for a coworker for the show on the 31st. When it was my turn to get cheaper seats, all the sections left were way behind the stage and I ended up going up one price level.

Section 29 isn't really behind the stage. barclayscenter.com/events-tickets/3d-seating-charts if you look there you'll see you are literally next to the stage on the side. Section 29 is probably the best of the behind the stage seats. It's easier to see if you look at the 3d end stage rendering.
