23-Jun-08: New York - Tickets, Preview, Meetups, Review/Photos
ENCORE!?!?! My friend was at the MSG show last night and tells me the band did NOT play an encore! That's unbelievable. The crowd was going nuts for one and they didn't come back out. It'd be incredibly sad if they think they're too big for encores now. * I should add I understand it was an entirely FREE show, so the idea that I have no right to find the lack of an encore ridiculous is justifiable. BUT, at the very least I think you can call this a bad sign...

Live Nation hint at "different" Coldplay tour
I'll take bets on this - my gut tells me it means they'll have a full orchestral arrangement behind them when they are on tour... I've thought some of their songs of the last two albums could have worked with this really well.... Now you have the song Viva La Vida that you almost can't perform live without an orchestral arrangement of some kind....

Coldplay Documentary Put On Hold
Is the "TV Documentary" recently put on hold the same thing (or at least related to) the upcoming Toronto DVD. The reason I ask is because I remember hearing that the aim of the DVD was to have more of a "movie" type feel to it - which sounds like the concert itself, as well as tons of additional footage from the tour, backstage etc - so it would seem logical to assume that this tour footage being used in this documentary would be compiled from the same footage going into the DVD... anyone?

coldplay live at the continental arena in jersey
Hey guys, here's a detailed setlist, maybe too detailed = ) Square One Politik* Yellow** Speed of Sound God Put a Smile Upon Your Face*** What if^ White Shadows% The Scientist^^ Til' Kingdom Come# Ring of Fire## Trouble Don't Panic^^^ Clocks Talks ------------ Swallowed in the Sea In My Place~ Fix You *Chris might have screwed up the lyrics, he sang "oh give me love over, love over..." on top of the chords when they finally hit... **Gold-glitter filled yellow ballons fall from the rafters, some get on to the stage and Johnny and Chris start popping them, Chris grabs one, kneels back as far as he can and slams them down behind them so it bounces really far behind him, into crowd ***Chris says something to the effect of "Sing with all your balls and all your boobs" and sings a few notes that he wants the audience to sing during the song. & Chris says to Johnny "ok let's do the Brokeback singalong and they both lie down next to each other on the front right of the stage to sing the end segment ^^Begins with a minute long guitar feedback/harmonics segment from Johnny #Begins a no piano mini-set, entire band moves to front of stage, closer to the audience. Only lighting is a big, gold spotlight that the band shines on the audience to the left of the stage and says "we can see all you beautiful people all the way back in those upper rows, hello..." Chris says "there are three great Americans I can think of off the top of my head. One is Jay-Z, he's here. Another is Richard Ashcroft, he's here and another is Johnny Cash, who we all wish could be here with us tonight.. This is a song we wrote for him" ## Chris says "now this is a song someone else wrote for Johnny Cash." ^^^Sang by Johnny, Chris says it takes a lot of balls to sing to all you people so please give Johnny a lot of support, it means a lot to us. ~Chris runs to the very back of the arena, then stands on a railing and sings with some of the fans, then sprints all the way back to the stage and leaves the security guards in the dust on his way
