  1. Has anyone heard "Magic" on the radio? I was listening to it and this version sounded so good. It had a lot of snare drum in it. It had a back ground type of sound that was different. It was all around awesome.
  2. That's enough.... I don't think anyone came on here to read Major Cooper and myself going back and forth about luck
  3. It's all good... as long as you're happy with what you have. If we weren't we wouldn't be on this thread showing it off :)
  4. I guess also it's the fact that I know that anyone with a collection of any size would agree that if they had to put time, effort and money into it, it's not luck.
  5. I'm not saying anyone is "wrong". I just want that person who said "You're lucky" to understand that if he wants a copy of the "Safety ep" he can have one.
  6. Not my best CDs of my collection but one of my favs. would be "The Fir Trees" CD a very rare special piece of Coldplay history. Am I lucky to have it? I say no. It sat there for sale for weeks before I did the research and picked it up.
  7. I guess luck would be that same auction for that same rare Coldplay CD... A person who has little money and places a small bid. A person who has a lot of money let's say his internet provider's server takes a dump and boot's him off line before he can drop his "bomb" and the little guy wins. That's "luck" I guess.
  8. Thanks! But I still don't believe "luck" has anything to do with any part of our collection. What it comes down to is spending a lot of time searching and having the money to lock in the highest bid. I know you may feel lucky when you win an auction for a super rare CD but think about it. Finding a rare Coldplay CD on a park bench sitting all alone needing a home.... That's luck. Sitting up all night watching an auction. Dropping a bomb at the last second and winning that same CD. That's work... not luck
  9. Quote: The Master: Of course you're so lucky to own them! No offence but I wouldn't say "lucky". They do pop up on eBay every once in a while. All you have to do is save your $ and be the highest bidder. It's not like he found his copies in a Willy Wonka, Scrumdidlyumptious bar. It is a safety ep.... not a golden ticket.
  10. Got 2 new CDs in today... I have the second version of "God Put A Smile Upon Your Face" ep from Taiwan. On the left is the first version in a slim line case. On the Right is the second version in a standard jewel case with the hologram sticker and "EMI" logo. Both are official Coldplay releases. The second CD for today is the Live 2003 promo CD "CPLIVE 2003" with a promo sticker. I have seen a few copies of CPLIVE 2003 floating around but this is the first with a promo sticker. I love collecting CDs with promo stickers. Lets say they release 1,000 CPLIVE 2003 promos. Even less will contain a promo sticker making them rare and fun to collect.
  11. Here is what I suggest for CD storage. I have 4 of these. They are "Zip-Lock" brand storage tubs. They have a water resistant lid with a foam ring that seals when you close it. I have 2 for CDs, one for LPs and one for Memorabilia. I have 3 large poster tubes and I have one framed item that sits out by itself. By the way I have 268 CDs in the 2 containers. They will hold aprox. 150 depending on how you arrange them. I have 2 trays in each one to keep them in line. That reduces the amount they will hold by a little.
  12. There ya go. You should start off slow. Get all of the regular albums on CD and LP first (easiest and cheapest). Then get the regular singles for each album. Then start to back fill your collection with promos and rare releases. Once you have all the CDs and LPs you want get some cool concert/promo posters to hang up next to your CD & LP collection. After that move on to some merch. and memorabilia. before you know it you'll be an addict like me with 353 Coldplay items!! :wink3:
  13. No, I can't say that I have. I don't have the "Bat Signal".
  14. That would be interesting. I've never had such a request.
  15. Ahhh, I love being poor as shit. Lovely collection though. :) Someday you could have a collection bigger than mine. I saved money for years first before I could build this collection. Save, save, save!
  16. Stacked shot of slim line cases.
  17. While looking at my collection last night I noticed something really cool. I have a rare collection within my collection. I have the first 3 era's in slim line cases (Parachutes, AROBTTH & X & Y). I'm thinking of selling this lot as a package. Let me know what you guys think. They would look really nice mounted in a frame and hung up on a wall. Thanks!!
  18. Hey (name classified), <--- Major Cooper About time you joined. To introduce everyone to (name classified).... (name classified) and I are the 2 biggest collectors in the US, maybe in the western hemisphere. Get your pictures posted! You need a URL. First post your pictures to a site like "PhotoBucket" then you will be given a link you can copy and paste here. You cannot post directly from your computer. Again, welcome (name classified)!
  19. I tried to get into Breaking Bad but couldn't. I usually don't watch much "scripted" TV other than "The Walking Dead" I watch Discovery and The Science channel. Addicted to nature documentaries. Especially Orangutan or Chimpanzee documentaries. Love watching baby orangs. or chimps. I WANT ONE!!!!
  20. I've decided to go the eBay route. I am going to open a store on eBay vs. starting my own website. I am going to give members of Coldplaying.com a special discount. Plus my shipping fees will be very low compared to others. I'm currently working on typing descriptions for each item. Then I have to take photos 2x of each item. Then I have to post the auction/sale. My deadline to have everything completed is July 15th. I'll keep everyone posted here and when I start selling I'll advertise each item here as well to give all of you Coldplayers a heads up before the auction or before the item goes up for set price.
  21. Way to go Linus. It's an addiction that we true fans cannot shake. Every time I see something, a CD or LP I don't have it's hard not to buy. I know exactly how a crack addict feels like. The Safety ep looks to me like what a big nugget of crack looks to an addict. Would love to have it but can't afford it.
  22. Thanks Coldplay.com. An official site selling unofficial crap. A $10 poster for $75. Watch out for them on eBay as well. I'm sure they will pop up there as soon as people find out they wasted their money they will try to get some back.
  23. and The Walking Dead. Not sure how many people around the world get to see "The Walking Dead" on AMC but it's the best T.V. show by far.
