In a first for "Late Night" and late night TV, NBC's "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" welcomes The White Stripes as musical guest for the entire week of shows April 22 -25 (12:35 am- 1:35 am, ET).

 

This marks the first time in late night television's history that any band has been booked for so long a stretch. "It's exciting to have a band as creative and relevant as The White Stripes at 'Late Night' for a whole week. In fact, they're staying at my apartment," said O'Brien.

 

The White Stripes will play songs from their critically lauded and eagerly awaited fourth record "Elephant," which Rolling Stone hailed in its five-star review as a "stone-cold classic."

 

The Detroit-based brother and sister team of Jack and Meg White began as a favorite indie band known for their distinctive guitar/vocal & drum-based sound, a bracing and raw combination of blues and rock. The Stripes burst into widespread success with the release of their last record "White Blood Cells" which was named "Album of the Year" by Spin magazine and one of the Top 50 Records of All Time by Q Magazine. The pair won three MTV Video Music Awards for their "Fell In Love With A Girl" video and sold out venues around the world...including a stint opening for The Rolling Stones in 2002.

 

Be sure to tune in the week of April 22 - 25 to catch 4 performances by The White Stripes!

lol thanks.....always wanted to see toronto, that big spiky tower thing, erm....the lake thing.....the trees......

 

my cousin lived there for 6 months, completely random fact which probably doesn't interest you, and she loved it, although she said it got so cold, bottles of water would freeze on her way to work in the morning....

and conan even mentioned that people say his name like that on his show... and he accused canadians of saying CONE - ANN often

That Toronto uni is really good and has a gorgeous campus.
