I prob. sound stupid, but anyway:

 

At VH1 two hours ago I saw a Coldplay-live performance, and in the upper right corner, it said "Live"

 

But I can't remember hearing about Coldplay playing live today..

Did it say "Live" because it was a live perfomance, or because it was live in the exact meaning of the word?

Hmmm interesting...Coldplay's next "official" gig is 14th at Earl's Court London.

VH1 always do that. It means they play live in front of the cameras but when we see it on tv, it could be weeks or months later. Or repeated.
