IFPI has announced that Coldplay have won four Platinum Europe Awards for the only Europe selling of Parachutes. During this summer, in fact, Parachutes has reached 4 million of copies sold only in the Old Continent.

This brings the group's tally of Platinum Europe Awards to 12, as all three of their studio albums have sold twelve million in the only Europe. Parachutes - which includes the international breakthrough single Yellow - shot to the top spot in the UK album chart on release in July 2000, and stayed in the Top 10 for a staggering 33 weeks.
