The electric guitar part.. is

The normal tuning only the highest E is tuned to F#. I believe.

 

And then you have on the highest E and B

 

(E---0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-)

B---5-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-12-12-12-12-5-5-5-5-5-5-4-4-4-4-4

 

You have to feel when you have to slide. from the 5 til the 12.

That's the electric guitar part. And you don't have to play the E it isn't nessesary. But i don't know if it's being tuned to F#.

 

I also found another thingie for the outro.

Thats:

So listen to what you think it's best.

I really dont see why Fix You of all the simplest songs of Coldplay is the one noone knows how to play right. First tune your guitar flat. and then its like she said

then on the fourth time you go 5-5-5-4-4-4-4 you'll get it... or i hope you will...

i think you'll find it is just the top e which is flat. u can tell if u watch jonny play the verse and chorus bit and copy what he's playing then the rest of the strings need to be standard tuning

Just tune your little E string down to Eb....so, if you were tuning the guitar...instead of getting it in tune with the 5th fret on the B string, just do the 4th fret...

 

Then, what I do, is play this...

 

E(Eb): 0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0

B: 4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4/11-11-11-11-4-4-4...etc.

 

and then eventually:

E(Eb): 0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0

B: 4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-3-3-3-3-3-3-3

 

Im pretty sure that is it. What I think they did in the studio's is played it in E, not Eb, but just turned the pitch or whatever down, when they were mixing it. Luckily, it is still easy to play live and all that, so yeh. I hope that helps.

excuse me you obviously dont know what you're talking about. i was fortunate enough to see jonny play this at abbey road about a metre away from me. i can promise u that he plays the 4th and 11th frets on the b string whilst the e is tuned flat. if u look at what he plays in the chorus then the rest of the strings E-B must be standard or he would be playing the wrong notes.

 

it's one thing being rude when u are right but when u are very wrong its much worse.
