hey.

i am doing my abitur (a school degree in germany) at the moment.

After passing there is a celebration party in the assemby hall, where every student gets his results. every student will be named, then he goes to the stage and gets his report. during this 40 seconds of a song chosen by the student will be played. this is not a very big assembly hall or celebration as some of you know from the american universities, but anyway that is not hte point...

which 40 seconds would you choose?

i thought of the talk promo version (that one which is 4:44 min,sec) from 3:40 to 4:20. mmh there are also interesting parts in clocks for that...

i would like to know your opinion and suggestions. i am not really sure about it, so i wanted to ask, whether you have good ideas.

haha cool.....I'll also do my "Abi" in January....and we'll also have this...when we go to stage there'll be a song played for us.....I'm not really sure if I can choose my song our if others choose a song that suits me....

 

if I could choose I'd choose......"you only live twice" either by Coldplay or the original by Nancy Sinatra....

 

I like the text....and the tune somehow fits to going to the stage...lol..

What an amazing idea! I hope they'll do that at my graduation as well.. God, I'd have no idea what to pick! So many great songs.. Though I'd definitely pick a Coldplay song, as everyone in my class only knows me as the Coldplay Freak, so everything else would shock them :P

Clocks is used for everything! You should use something no one would expect.

In My Place would be really good! And Daylight! Oh, And the guitar part in X&Y would be good too.

Ha, that's what people call me. Sometimes "coldplay addict" too. If I didn't use Coldplay for something like this people would think that it's not me but some kind of clone...

If it was up to me I would do the very beginning of a Warning Sign.

I just love the shuffleing noise of Jonnys guitar.

^ I love that too, but I don't know if that's Coldplay-ish enough. I like the idea with the part from the talk demo... but you might be able to find something better.

I asked the foriegn exchange student and he only said he liked two songs, Shiver and Clocks, I figured they were the only singles that got big.

You make a good point. But if it was me, I'd want people to know that it was Coldplay.

 

And maybe that particular foreign exchange student doesn't know Coldplay too well... I think there are Coldplay fans in every country.

how big coldplay is in germany...mmh. i guess 60% will know that is a coldplay song (with 40sec talk).

i think since x&y coldplay became much more popular. everyone knows them somehow but only a few know them well and listen to it.
