Guitar amp for Keyboard

Featured Replies

I got a MO 8 in July and at the time I didn't have enough money left for a keyboard amp. In the meantime I have just been using my guitar amp http://www.zzounds.com/item--FEN0231502000 . I guess what I want to know is if it is worth purchasing a keyboard amp. Will there really be a significant difference?

Definitely worth it. Most guitar amps wont bring across the full depth and clarity of a keyboard.

In my experience, if your keyboard is a lower quality instrument, it won't make a huge difference, but if you have a good instrument, you should have an amp worthy of it.

If you go into your local music store, and have them run your keyboard or a similar model through both a guitar and a keyboard amp, you' probably hear a vast difference.

Just my two cents though.:)

Anything you suggest? Thanks for the quick reply!

Is there some sort of converter where you can convert the MIDI ports on your keyboard into the big amp plugs? I'd really like to hear my keyboard on my amp but it doesn't come with an output thing, all it has are MIDI ports.

i have a roland keyboard amp. it's awesome. it has like, four channels, too. i lov eit. but yeah there is sposed to be a big difference, even though i've never tried them side by side.
