Stampede as cash machine coughs out free £20 and £10 notes

A cash machine was besieged when it started dispensing £20 notes instead of £10 notes after a bank worker loaded the wrong cartridge.

The HSBC facility in Clerkenwell, London is thought to have given out thousands of pounds over more than two hours.

Drama student Alex Vevers, 19, said: "It was amazing how quickly a crowd gathered. People were phoning their friends to come down."

HSBC said a "human error" led to "a small amount extra" being dispensed. It has not decided if it will try to reclaim the overpayments.

Imagine getting to the front only to discover it'd run out of money!!

All those people taking advantage,maybe they will sue them for theft..
