Jen Hunter is 5ft 11 and a size 12

 

The size 12 star of television series Make Me a Supermodel has been forced to leave her mainstream model agency because she is deemed too large.

Jen Hunter, 25, who became a poster girl for the size zero debate after judges on the Channel Five show said she was too fat, has left Cape London Model Management to join a plus-size agency.

The 5ft 11in mother-of-one from Wigan became Cape's first size 12 model when she joined their books this year.

But despite being chosen to front household campaigns, including one for Nokia, she has experienced a series of knock-backs at catwalk castings.

She said: "I'm grateful to Cape London Model Management for taking me on when other agencies wouldn't and they secured me some great contracts.

"However, they are a mainstream agency and when I went to castings I saw very few size 12 models and came up against the same old prejudices and didn't feel comfortable, so I decided to change to Excel Models which is a plus size agency."

 

Hunter's refusal to lose weight when confronted by Supermodel show judges, saw her lose the show but win the public vote.

Judge Tandy Anderson, managing director of Select Model Management, controversially told Ms Hunter that her legs were too stocky.

Ms Hunter, 24, was also told off by supermodel Rachel Hunter for saying she wanted to prove larger women could succeed as models.

The supermodel said she had spent 20 years battling with her weight and that Ms Hunter should do the same.

Isn't this an old story? I've seen this girl a bunch of times. she doesn't look like a size twelve...I think she has a good body, obviously she's not skinny or anything..
