Any advice on how to keep a rock band going?

A friend of mine, was in a band. And he was having the sorta the same problem as you are. What I told him was, you shouldn't choose a genre (idk if thats what you're asking as you question was unclear) just play what comes out, dont try and define what you do. thats what nme's for :P

and its good that your whole group has such a diverse taste, that means you'll end up with an original result.. please dont let there be another kooks. i think id shoot myself
