Xfm Meets Coldplay

added 16 December 2008 at 14.48

The 40 million album-selling, Grammy Award-winning, Earth-dictating Kings Of Soft Rock called in on Xfm for an exclusive interview, talking the early days, Brian Eno and how they shaped the ‘Coldplay sound’…

Currently on a sell-out tour of the land’s arenas, frontman Chris Martin and drummer Will Champion spoke to Xfm Manchester’s Clint Boon before venturing off to headline the city’s MEN Arena.

Listen to the five-part interview below…

http://www.xfm.co.uk/artists/interviews/2008/xfm-meets-coldplay-interview

Part 1 – They talk about building the ‘Coldplay sound’, secretly penning reggae tracks, and ‘Chris Martin’s Analogy Of The Week’.

Part 2 – They talk about what it was like to work with Brian Eno, the future of the album, and being behind U2 in the Biggest Band pecking order.

Part 3 – They talk about who the next Coldplay could be, and how the music industry has changed over time.

Part 4 – They talk about the early days, realising their success, and Chris Martin’s offstage insecurities.

Part 5 – They talk about being affected by critics, and the influence of Manchester.

Great, thanks :)

Thanks for the info! I'm listening to it now! :)
