How does Coldplay produce the main riff in "Lovers in Japan" throughout the song? At the beginning, Chris plays the piano riff but then leaves to sing. It keeps going! Is it a backing track that the sound-mixers put in or what? Here is a good example of it. It happens when they play Lost! too. Not trying to fight the performance or anything, I'm just curious.

I think they have backing tracks on most if not all of their songs. At the same time, the pianos and keys are turned up just enough to be acknowledged their presence. This way, Chris can go play them when their is a break in the singing and then he can leave and walk around and the riff is still there.
