OK! Now I know this is an EXTREMELY LONG shot but here goes anyways. I've been part of this forum now for nearly 4 years. I know I haven't been the most actively involved or most active poster. Having said that I visit this place pretty much everyday and I love to keep upto date. The thing that has impressed me the most and is the reason why I'm writing this right now, is the community spirit which exists here. This has been evident in various projects such as the CCC and the Postcards From Far Away project. Taking this into consideration and also taking into consideration how warmly received the covers I've made were and still are (thank you!) I decided why not for the hell of it see if I can with the aid of everyone involved in this community fulfill a dream and play on stage with Coldplay. I'd be aiming for Monday 14th of September when Coldplay play here in Dublin. I'm not really sure how to actually go about this which is why I'm turning to you people for help as I genuinely believe it could be possible! I'll post some covers here underneath this so that you can hopefully get a flavour and it might inspire you to become involved! I will say one more thing before I finish...IF YOU NEVER TRY, YOU NEVER KNOW!

Great work on those covers.

 

I don't want to be the ass who stomps all over your dreams, but it is highly unlikely you will ever get a shot to play with Coldplay. Any projects (Postcards) were a community activity that simply were gestures of appreciation for the band.

 

I have never heard of them randomly letting someone play with them simply because they can do a really great cover. It's not even like a competition they are offering (if it was, I am sure you would win.) I just don't see it happening.

 

Anyway, with all that said, great great work and keep up the music no mater what! :cool:

First off, I just wanted to say that those were awesome covers and you have an excellent voice :)

Second, do you have original material that you write and perform? If so, then maybe you could be a support act for that date. I know that idea seems a little far fetched and all, but if you contact whoever , and with that talent I think it puts you in a pretty good spot.

 

And if you don't have original material yet, you best get cracking if you really want to play with them. Your deadine is now officialy set to July according to my master plan ;)

The only person I know of who got to play with them was Ricardo, who got the opportunity through the Make a Wish foundation. So, um...I wouldn't count on getting to play with them under normal circumstances. But Guy has been known to listen to cover bands, so maybe if you could get him (somehow) to hear your covers, you might get some recognition.
