According to the French it was when in reality the British organised the operation and had many many troops fighting that day to liberate the French who couldn't stand on their own two feet even though they had the biggest army in the world and failed. And yet this is the thanks Britain got. Still at least britain beat the French in winning the Olympics for 2012.... Rugby World Cup 2003 and 2007, France lost to England in the semis..... Scotland beat France twice in the Euro qualifiers. Only kidding... France is a great country.

Americans view their own country's history as a sort of fairy-tale of constant progress toward and undefined perfection, spiked with intermittent dark moments brought about by brown people and capitalists. The country's financial situation is so dire that it'll be amazing if it can keep its military in its current form... but it's not a big deal because France and Britain have nuclear weapons.
