MEN LOVE ELVIS QUIFF BUT WOMEN PREFER BRAD PITT CREW CUT

THE Beatles fringe, the seventies bubble perm, the spikes of punk rock...the look of Rock ‘n’ Roll has taken many guises but one more than any other is a cut above.

For, as his 75th birthday approaches, Elvis Presley’s iconic quiff has come out top of the charts among men’s favourite hairstyles.

According to research a staggering 50 per cent of men voted for the King’s trademark quiff and sideburns.

Elvis’s look left David Beckham’s coiffured “curtains” hairstyle and eighties radio DJ Pat Sharp’s mullet behind. They only secured 17 per cent and 15 per cent of the poll respectively. More than 4,000 Britons were polled for the research, by Head & Shoulders shampoo, to determine who sported the most classic man’s haircut. But when it comes to having a cut themselves, men are more conservative.

A failsafe short back and sides is a favoured option but also popular is a classic crewcut as sported by style icons such as movie star Brad Pitt.

And a supporting survey revealed that 66 per cent of women found men with crew cuts had more sex appeal than men with quiffs.
