Free Music Sites

Featured Replies

First of all it doesn't want to promote any sort of spam. Before i post the thread i already told The Boss about it.

The idea of this thread is to share sites we use where we can listen music free on stream as LastFM or Spotify.

Anyways if we already have a thread for that, or is the wrong section, mods be free to change what is necesary. Also if it goes spamily feel free to close thread.

Ok, so as finally i won't be able to use Spotify on my laptop in the near future anymore, -due to their software not working for my current free OS unless i become a subscribed monthly payer user for their experimental version for my OS, oh irony!-, i've been wondering what system i'll use, so i researched other similar sites and softwares, so far i found those thought i'd like to know, how good are them if you coldplayers already use them, and also if there are more out there.

MixTape.Me

It works as easily as: search, drag and drop. Even works without having to register. Also you can create playlist and share them. Yet i wonder how 'new' is their music base.

Well i did the try of new music, don't seem to have many that i like and some they do is not so well organized.

StreamDrag.com

Works as simply as type an artist, track title or keyword. Playlist can be done easily and it features a small embeded screen with the vid linked.

So far seems their music base is good, with several new artist. Thought i have the feel those work through YouTube vids only

deezer.com

Base is not good for me, have few and not so new music in it, at least the one that catch my attention at the moment.

muziic.com

Good base, and seems works through vids as StreamDrag.

groone.com

Another that works through videos on YouTube.

listengo.com

List are old, and info is badly written most of the times.

goear.com

List are old and info is not so good.

mecanto.com

You need to install their software, to listen your computer music. Yet i have to install it and try a couple days. But seems is not streaming.

mufin.com

Another one where you have to install their software, to listen YOUR computer music, thought that one offers a store option through hard drive with them, and also plays music by similar sounding. Yet i have to try that one a couple days aswell.

stereomood.com

Seems that one will be great to discover new music, thought problem is that one works with tags/keyword only and not through artist or song title itself.

thesixtyone.com

For purely new music, artists upload their music daily and you listen and rate them. It even offers 'quests'.

I used to use t61, but ever since they changed their format I stopped.

I find there are good albums and songs on bandcamp and alot of free or cheap downloads on that site as well.

I just found Grooveshark.com...as far as I know they have basically everything. You can listen to whole albums so it's a good way to suss out what to buy. I haven't tried making a playlist yet but I know you can.

I use The Hype Machine. It is just a site that people post songs on their blogs and the site links to the songs.

I use Hype Machine. :awesome:
