The iTunes webstore hit the right note on Tuesday when it revealed it had sold more than 3billion songs. The online music store's success came just 18 months after it sold its 1billionth track – Coldplay's Speed Of Sound.
'We'd like to thank all of our customers who have contributed to this incredible milestone,' said iTunes vice-president Eddy Cue.
Apple's online music shop was launched in the US in April 2003, and in Britain in June 2004. It now has 550 television shows and 500 films on offer alongside its catalogue of more than 5million songs.
