Hi Ian. Thanks a lot for accepting our proposal to be interviewed. We are happy to contact one of the most expert person about Coldplay’s world.
How was Coldplaying idea born?
I started a personal website and enjoyed Coldplay’s music at the same time. So I put the two together and created Coldplaying.com!
How much time and how many efforts you needed to bring Coldplaying in the Coldplay’s fans’s hearts as one of the most appreciate site about the band?
I firmly believe you get out what you put in. Coldplaying.com’s visitors appreciate the hard work and effort that goes in to creating the biggest Coldplay site in the world. If they didn't, they wouldn't visit. Simple!
How many hours do you spend as the webmaster and admin of the most important non official site about Coldplay?
As many as it takes! How long is a piece of string?
Did you ever meet the band?
No, and it’s not on my list of things to do either. It’s the music and website I’m into.

Not difficult at all. You just need dedication and a sense of humour. And of course Stephen & Jen, whose help is invaluable and we wouldn't be were we are without them. And thanks to all the mods: Berrywoman, Fifi, Leaver, LiquidSky, Mimixxx, Knight of Cydonia, Sweet One e Weedy_Gonzalez; thanks to all the CCC admins: lunar1124, an_cat, frostbitepanda and victaniac.

You are a ‘supporter’ of this sentence: ‘I’ve the future. I’ve tasted it!’. How do you see Coldplay future? And Coldplaying future?
As long as they remain healthy and dedicated to their work, there's no limit for them. As for Coldplaying.com I've turned down three offers to buy the site. We're in it for the long haul. Coldplaying.com is not for sale!
Coldplaying and Coldplayzone are now joined for one reason: spread the world ‘Coldplay’ as far as possible. What do you think about Coldplayzone? Is it a good site?

We need the truth now: what do you think when, at the end of the last BT Digital Music Awards, Coldplayzone ‘defeated’ Coldplaying?
I don't see it as a defeat, I see it as a chance to improve in 2007. 54th place in 2003, 44th place in 2004, and 36th place in 2005, then in Coldplaying's busiest year, 79th place in 2006. Need I say more about DMA’s voting system?!
Anyway, we are joking…We had promoted some events, petitions and collaborations. Do you want to propose anything else to Coldplayzone, maybe in the future?

I've never been to Italy, sorry! I’d like to go one day though… when its not too hot!
The situation of british music now with some groups like Coldplay and Muse seems to be improved after years and years of a sort of dark. Do you think that brit music now it's on the right path to re-conquer the world, as Beatles did in the 60's, or Coldplay, Muse and some others are only a little light in an ocean of obscurity?
Music is music. You listen to what you like. If you don't like dark music, go and buy a Spice Girls album. If you don't like Spice Girls buy Led Zeppelin. Muse and Coldplay are just two bands vying for a place in British musical history. British music hasn't got any worries at all. British music doesn't need to re-conquer the world, it didn't lose its grip in the first place.
Very soon in italy, 'Star Wars Coldplay vs. Oasis' will be broadcasted on TV. How do english people see this opposition? What do you personally think about this 'little struggle'?
I have no idea! Can you knock someone's teeth out with a lightsabre?
Apart from Coldplay, which are your other hobbies and passions?
Snooker, chess, badminton, football, gardening

Com’è nata l’idea di Coldplaying?
Avevo creato un sito internet personale e allo stesso tempo mi piaceva la musica dei Coldplay. Così ho unito le due cose e ho creato Coldplaying.com!
Quanto tempo e quanti sforzi hai dovuto superare per ‘portare’ Coldplaying nel cuore dei fans dei Coldplay come uno dei più apprezzati siti riguardanti la band?
Credo fermamente che ognuno ottiene quello che investe nel fare le cose. Gli utenti di Coldplaying.com apprezzano il duro lavoro e lo sforzo che serve per creare il sito dei Coldplay più grande del mondo. Se non lo apprezzassero, non verrebbero a visitarlo. Semplice!
Quante ore trascorri al giorno in qualità di webmaster e amministratore del sito più importante non ufficiale dei Coldplay?
Quante ne servono! Quant’è lungo un pezzo di corda?

No, e non fa nemmeno parte della mia lista delle cose da fare. Mi interessano solo la musica e il sito.

Cosa ne pensate di ‘Chi deve di più a chi: voi o la vostra casa discografica?’
Il tuo sito ha migliaia di visitatori. Quanto è difficile gestirne la struttura?
Non è per niente difficile. Serve solo dedizione e senso dell’umorismo. E ovviamente Stephen e Jen (altri due amministratori di Coldplaying, ndr), il cui aiuto è inestimabile. Non saremmo dove siamo senza di loro. Devo ringraziare anche i moderatori del mio forum e gli admin del Coldplaying Charity Club.

Avete perso un’opportunità qui, avreste dovuto farmi una domanda più diretta!! Sono dello Scorpione, il che significa che sono un perfezionista. Va bene così? Comunque, vivo a Manchester.
Sei un sostenitore della frase: ‘Ho il futuro. L’ho provato!’. Come vedi il futuro dei Coldplay? E quello di Coldplaying?
Finchè rimarranno in salute e dediti al loro lavoro, non ci saranno limiti per loro. Per quanto riguarda Coldplaying.com, ho rifiutato tre offerte di acquisto del sito. Siamo preparati ad un viaggio lungo e difficile. E comunque, Coldplaying.com non è in vendita!
Coldplaying e Coldplayzone si sono uniti per una ragione: diffondere la parola ‘Coldplay il più lontano possible. Cosa ne pensi di Coldplayzone? E’ un buon sito?

Ora vogliamo la verità: cosa ne pensi della ‘sconfitta’ di Coldplaying da parte di Coldplayzone agli ultimi BT Digital Music Awards?
Non la vedo come una sconfitta, ma come un’opportunità per migliorare nel 2007. 54esimo posto nel 2003, 44esimo nel 2004, 36esimo nel 2005, poi nell’anno più impegnato di Coldplaying, 79esimo nel 2006. Devo aggiungere altro sul metodo di votazione dei DMA?

Penso che avreste dovuto chiederlo a Debs la settimana scorsa! (ironizza sul fatto che sarebbe stato meglio chiedere ciò direttamente a Debs Wild, webmaster e responsabile di Coldplay.com, intervistata proprio la settimana scorsa, ndr). Il mio lavoro per il sito ufficiale è stato fatto! E per voi ho già dato il mio contributo!
Conosci il nostro Paese? Cosa ne pensi dell’Italia?
Non sono mai stato in Italia, mi dispiace! Ma mi piacerebbe venirci un giorno…quando non fa troppo caldo!
La situazione attuale della musica inglese, con alcuni gruppi come Coldplay e Muse, sembra essere migliorata dopo anni di buio. Credi che la ‘brit music’ abbia ritrovato la strada giusta per riconquistare il mondo, come i Beatles hanno fatto negli anni ’60, o i Coldplay, i Muse e qualcun altro saranno solo una piccola luce in un oceano di oscurità?
La musica è la musica. Ascolti quello che ti piace. Se non ti piace la musica dark, vai a comprare un album delle Spice Girls. Se non ascolti le Spice Girls ti compri i Led Zeppelin. I Muse e i Coldplay sono solo due band che competono per un posto nella storia della musica britannica. La musica inglese però non ha alcuna preoccupazione. La musica inglese non ha bisogno di riconquistare il mondo, non hai mai mollato la presa dall’inizio.
Presto in Italia sarà trasmesso ‘Star Wars Coldplay vs. Oasis’. Gli inglesi come vedono questa opposizione? Tu cosa pensi di questa ‘piccola battaglia’?
Non ne ho idea! Si può colpire qualcuno ai denti con una spada laser ?
Oltre ai Coldplay, quali sono i tuoi hobby e le tue passioni?
Il biliardo, gli scacchi, il badminton, il calcio e il giardinaggio.
