    Coldplay Announce New Album/Single Details

Coldplay’s massively anticipated new album will be entitled 'X&Y' and the first single to be released from it will be called ‘Speed Of Sound’.

Coldplay's new album, the follow-up to 2002’s 16 million selling ‘A Rush Of Blood To The Head’, will be entitled ‘X&Y’ and will be released by Parlophone Records on June 6. The album will also be preceded by the new single, 'Speed Of Sound' on May 23.

'X&Y' was recorded over the past year at studios in the UK and has been produced by Danton Supple (Morrissey, Elbow), Ken Nelson (Badly Drawn Boy, Kings of Convenience) and the band themselves.

Easily the most album anticipated release of 2005, ‘X&Y’ sees Coldplay building on their previous achievements while resisting the temptation to repeat themselves.

“We wanted to try new things out, to move our sound along,” explained Coldplay guitarist Jonny Buckland, “But the focus remains on the songs, and Chris [Martin]’s voice is sounding amazing. Everyone is playing at the top of their game.”
