Coldplay Live Reviews and Setlist - Koengen, Bergen, Norway (19th August 2009)

Coldplay's Viva La Vida tour continued through Europe last night as they played at Koengen, Bergen in Norway. The Coldplay-shaped puppets go boating in Bergen - see those pictures after the jump. Minor changes to the setlist include Speed Of Sound being moved earlier into the set. Til Kingdom Come was once again played but this time sung by Chris Martin on the acoustic stage. And yes, Chris has finally had a haircut.

The concert was not very different from the one in Herning on 16 August. But the Danish crowd seemed much more into it than the Norwegian crowd. In one of the articles it said that Chris had a hard time trying to move the crowd / get it into it. I understand that it was raining in Bergen, but there is a saying that "it always rains in Bergen"! Chris Martin had a haircut (and really needed it, I must say - and I am one of the fans preferring him with curly hair, but it was some centimetres too long imo. I was afraid that he would have shaved off too much hair, but I find his new haircut amazing - just perfect for the rest of the tour. [thanks nancyk58]

I am seldom so impressed and convinced by a band as tonight. It is difficult to reproduce the massive sound from the Coldplay records, but they managed to do just that to the full. And the "live" element makes it even better. And the crazy show! (by Stephan Meidell).

Very good concert today. I have heard Coldplay two times before, and both concerts were not nearly as good as this one. A great concert with a great band. (by Torbjørn).

One of the greatest concerts I have ever been to. I have been to concerts with Stones, Kiss, Beck, Pink Floyd, Foo Fighters, The Cure, Metallica, Gasolin (a Danish band, popular throughout Scandinavia), Blur, Oasis, Springsteen, Eagles, the Who. Should have been to the Michael Jackson concert in London. The concert tonight was magical. Amazing! 6/6* from me. (by Oddikk).

Thank you so much! Fantastic sound! Fantastic video show! Very good lighting -, laser - and pyro effects (fireworks)! Chris Martin is really fit for fight. Hitparade! Moving tribute to Michael Jackson! All this combined was MAGIC and without a doubt one of the best performed quality concerts in Bergen ever. PS: I was not even a Coldplay fan, but I think that I became a Coldplay fan yesterday. (by Trond).

Thanks to Nancy Boysen for the translations. More on this concert including reviews, videos, pictures and tweets here onwards.
