Coldplay's final video of the Viva la Vida era has been nominated for best Breakthrough Video at this year's MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs). More on this is at the Coldplay forum here [thanks clisaj]
In this category Coldplay will be up against Dan Black (Symphonies), Gorillaz featuring Bobby Womack and Mos Def (Stylo) and The Black Keys (Tighen Up). If Coldplay win this category, it will be the fourth award for the Strawberry Swing video. Back in October 2009 at the UK Music Video Awards Strawberry Swing and video makers Shynola were awarded an impressive three category wins, including the coveted Video of the Year award, best animation in a video and best rock video at the ceremondy at Odeon West End cinema in Leicester Square, London.
The awards ceremony is due to take place in Los Angeles on 12 September. Lady Gaga landed a record 13 nominations for the MTV Video Music Awards, ahead of rap star Eminem who captured eight nods.
Strawberry Swing is your favourite Coldplay video from the Viva Era!
We asked you what your favourite video from Viva la Vida era was - and interestingly the last three videos that Coldplay put out are so far the most popular. Shynola's hard work on the Strawberry Swing is recognised as it gets the highest number of votes, followed by the creativity of the Life In Technicolor ii stage-show in second and the fast-paced Lovers In Japan follows closely in third.
You can add to the vote here - look out for more polls soon. The results so far in this poll are as follows:
