Three years ago, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin warned that his band wouldn't be "in this neck of the woods again for quite a while".
Since that tour, the English quartet have staked their claim for the title of biggest rock band in the world, selling millions of albums and playing to vast crowds nightly.
The group even affected the share price of their record company, EMI, when they missed the deadline for the release date for their third album, X&Y.
