Justin Hawkins [pictured] has sensationally slammed Chris Martin and Bono, saying that the Coldplay frontman should burn in hell.   In the outspoken interview, he also said that he hates Bono’s egotistical ‘holier than thou’ attitude. Asked which star should burn in hell, Hawkins replied, “Chris Martin. What are those seven deadly sins again? Greed? Sloth? Calling your child Apple? He’s terribly vain. I think he has a narcissism complex. He wants to be Bono, but he bleats in interviews about wo

London, June 27 (ANI): If there’s one band that Justin Timberlake is desperate to perform with, it would be British band Coldplay.   The Sexy Back singer insists that Coldplay are the ‘modern Beatles’, and that’s why he would give an arm and a leg to duet with them. And, even in the band Timberlake knows just who he wants to jam with – Gwyneth Paltrow’s hubby Chris Martin. "Coldplay are the modern Beatles, so I’d love to do a duet with them — especially Chris Martin," The Sun quoted him, as say

US hip-hop megastar Justin Timberlake was the inspiration for Coldplay's new album Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends, according to frontman Chris Martin.   The band's drummer Will Champion is such a fan of Timberlake's hit track Cry Me A River, he used it as inspiration for one of their's tracks, Lost! Martin says, "One song we're always trying to chase is Cry Me A River in terms of the beats and everything.I know that is one of Will's favourite songs. And he did all the drums on Lost!"

As previously reported, Justin Timberlake revealed he’d love to collaborate with Chris Martin — but the Coldplay star had turned him down. The singer said: “I’d like to get Chris Martin in the studio but he won’t sing on anything but Coldplay stuff.” And Justin can’t help but be a little peeved about it. He joked on a T4 special: “I respect him and I hate him for that.”   While Chris will happily write and produce with other artists — including Jay Z, Nelly Furtado and Jamelia — he doesn’t like

Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson has hit out at the media's "obsession" with his weight, claiming he is tired of constant criticism.   The Brit Award-winner has even suffered at the hands of Coldplay frontman Chris Martin - who recently commented on how slight he looked.   Wilson says, "When I saw Chris Martin recently he stopped me and told me he'd heard I'd been having a bit of a rough time. Then he looked at me and said: 'And I think you're actually really thin.' I didn't know what to say.

Kaiser Chief Ricky Wilson yesterday revealed his tactics to deal with superstarencounters - being grumpy.   The frontman says he’s so shy when he bumps into other celebs that he starts moaning in a bid to look cool.   Ricky said: I do get a bit starstruck, it’s not like I can’t speak but when I meet famous people I moan. I think it makes me appear cool and blasé. We were talking to Coldplay yesterday and Chris Martin asked me how relations within the band were. I went, ‘Mm, you know. All right I

While most students will begin their 2007/08 year of schooling in September, Kanye West is targeting the month for his “Graduation,” which is the title of his third album for Def Jam records.   So far, a snippet of the song “Can’t Tell Me Nothing,” featuring Coldplay’s Chris Martin, has found its way onto the Internet. The DJ Toomp-produced track features the lyrics: "I had a dream I could buy my way to heaven / When I woke I spent that on a necklace / I told God I'd be back in a second / Man, i

British rockers Keane have rubbished comparisons to Coldplay - insisting they sound more like Travis.   Keane pianist Tim Rice-Oxley studied at university in London with Coldplay singer Chris Martin and the two groups started out together. Nevertheless, Rice-Oxley insists they see Coldplay as contemporaries rather than influences.   He explains, "I don't think we sound Coldplay. We are friends with them but I wouldn't say they're hugely influential. I'm not hugely comfortable with either compari

In Manchester, the town where Roy Keane became a household name, they’ve been shouting “KEANO!” since Tom Chaplin was a boy. Tonight though, the chant found itself a new arena. “Now he’s retired, I suppose we can lay claim to it,” smiled the Keane frontman.   Undeterred by three years in which detractors have dismissed his group as Coldplay imitators, the singer donned acoustic guitar and pretended to be Chris Martin for a snatch of Yellow. Resisting Manchester’s exhortations to carry on, he pl

Creating big waves in the global music industry is Keane, the new band touted as the next Coldplay. Composed of Tom Chaplin (vocals), Richard Hughes (drums) and Tim Rice-Oxley (piano) grew up together in Sussex. They formed the band in 1997 while at Hastings Secondary School.   Radio jocks described the Keane sound as "somewhere between a scuffed Coldplay and a bewildered Beautiful South."   You can discuss this story here   Read the full article here.

Keane are hoping their new album, out on June 12th, will finally shake off the comparisons to fellow UK act Coldplay.   Singer Tom Chaplin has come out to say he finds the constant references as "grating", but does admit that the Chris Martin fronted band had been an inspiration. Chaplin said: "Even though we probably share a lot of influences, Coldplay have never been a real direct influence on us. We find it grating. But I suppose they have been an inspiration - at the beginning people called

Keane star Tim Rice-Oxley was left envious of Coldplay's global success - because he almost formed a band with their frontman Chris Martin.   Keyboardist Rice-Oxley nearly joined Coldplay before the idea was ultimately binned. He then watched as Martin's band shot to the top of the charts around the world. But the release of Keane's debut album 'Hopes And Fears' last year has set the London-based trio on a similar course.   Rice-Oxley says, "Chris Martin and I were friends, and we were both in j

The Sun's Gordon Smart is 'kidnapped' by Coldplay's Guy Berryman, Chris Martin, Will Champion and Jonny Buckland, as the journalist bags an exclusive interview with the band during the American Music Awards...   One thing I never thought I would say in my career is that I have been kidnapped by Coldplay. But a routine interview in a drab American city with Britain’s biggest band turned into one of the best weekends I’ve ever had.   Chris Martin, Guy Berryman, Will Champion and Jonny Buckland did

Terrible news this evening as children's charity, Kids Company has closed down (as of 19:00 GMT), amid allegations of financial mis-management, from UK government officials. The charity has made a huge difference to children's lives since 1996 and is cause, which has been close to Coldplay's hearts.     The saga involving the charity's finances had been going on since last year, when their funding was slashed, prompting the charity's founder, Camila Batmanghelidjhs to request an advance of

The Killers have revealed their new album 'Sam's Town' took some inspiration from Coldplay.   Though the Killers have made plenty of headlines for trading barbs with bands over the last year-plus, during our AOL Sessions interview frontman Brandon Flowers and guitarist Dave Keuning had nothing but kind words for some of their peers.   "We all listen to our favorite bands and are inspired on the drive to the studio by whatever's in our car," Keuning said. Article by Rolling Stone India   It isn’t everyday that bands with massive international followings pick India as the location for their music videos. And when they do, star-struck India responds in the most overjoyed ways, mostly on social media, and by means of hastily hash-tagging, compulsively sharing leaked pictures on their profile, and expressing regret at not spotting the band themselves.   We spoke with a crew member from production team that worked on the video that Coldplay shot in
