Sonic Highways, the latest Foo Fighters documentary will air on American TV station, HBO this Friday 17th October. The documentary detailing the making of their forthcoming album, also titled Sonic Highways follows the efforts of Dave Grohl and co as they record each song of the new album in a different city and studio across the US. Coldplay have spoken about their plans for 2009, and how the band plans to start work on the follow up to their best selling Viva la Vida album. Bass player Guy Berryman and drummer Will Champion spoke to stv's John Kilbride shortly before they appeared at Glasgow's SECC in December. EMI have just revealed that there will be a Coldplay 7" box set featuring 15 singles on heavyweight vinyl. We've heard there will be an extremely limited release of this, pressed up for initial orders only and then deleted. Zane Lowe has announced the premier of a new Coldplay song, on his Beats1 radio show tomorrow! He'll be joined by Coldplay's frontman, Chris Martin for the first time since the DJ left BBC Radio 1 for Apple Music. John Key could be in copyright trouble over music used in the DVD to mark his year as National Party leader. The party has been warned it is walking a fine line by using a newly created piece of music very similar to Coldplay's Clocks. The similarities are enough to have prompted the Australasian Performing Right Association, which manages copyright issues and licences for many international bands in New Zealand, to notify the copyright holder for Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.
